Flames of War sells tanks for 12.50 and I believe its a 20mm (I have no idea if that is right) so if 10mm is smaller I wonder if the cost would then follow in suit and be a bit lower, just a bit of speculating while we wait

I believe someone said earlier that the miniatures are going to cost higher than average but nowhere near GW's price range (and this was before the recent price hike)

That to me would suggest 10 for the light ships or perhaps 19.99 for 3 light class and around 20-25 for the Command Vehicles ect

15mm, actually, but it tends to be more expensive than the norm.

I'd look to Pendraken as 'the norm' for 10mm minis. From them, I can get 10 'Marines in Battle Armor' for £1.60, and a Hovertank for £2.05. So, even at a 'premium' price, this shouldn't be that expensive.

In a interview he said it will not cost you 400$ to start (the price the interviewer gave for just starting with GW), it should be high side of mid price range or low side of high price range. But, high detail miniature and top of line mold injection don't come cheap.

All this leads me to believe that pricing will be similar to FoW's

Lack of information leads to (unfounded) speculation that it will be on the high side, probably more than FoW pricing.

Well, from the hints I expect it to be on the high side, too... we'll know in a few days, anyway (hopefully the starter / army deals will be discounted for quantity, 3 for each faction apparently).

Shaltari for me! Those leggy walkers sealed the deal for me (and my friends all want the other factions more). Please dont let the rules suck!

I like the crest on the Coyote, but not the little gunless turret. Maybe it would look better if you trimmed back the underside and built it straight into the spine of the walker?

I think the turret is just a sort of command capsule, imagine that inside is some alien strategist with data and live feeds floating around him.

Johira mentioned how the Zeus's shield reminded him of Gungans. For some reason, whenever I imagine the Shaltari I think of those blue cat people from Avatar.

They're both tribal-themed giants, so that's understandable.

Still, it's as off-putting as imaging JarJar piloting the Neptune.

Today, I was thinking it was going to be the 8th friday when it the web site went live.

It seems a bit odd that ground command vehicles have orbital uplink, but dropships don't.

Maybe they do, and orbital bombardment is a standard fixture of some scenarios? If I was dropping from space, you'd be sure I'd be chucking some nails down at the very least. Maybe that is how they balance an attacker coming in from space against a dug in defender, instead of the usual reserves rules for some scenarios?

makes sense, the Desolator is easily the nicest Scourge unit

I could imagine a UCM regular yelling that midway through a grueling battle as they tried to break the Scourge's command network.

Is there any word on whether the models are resin or PVC? I know the infantry are metal.

The models are resin, but some new and hitherto unknown (at least to modellers) compound that you can bend without breaking.

I'm curious to get my hands on one to see how it feels

Bad thing, paints will chip off easily then. That's why it is yet unknown to modellers.

Not so sure about the paint chipping off, I used to use Acrylics on Leather, works pretty well. Acrylic paint can be pretty flexible if used thinly enough, and a good painter uses it thin....

Had so many figures bend, break, or just snap bits off over the years I look forward to giving it a look!
