Ah thanks for the link, answers my question, probably means it is less likely I'll be getting on board, but still considering.

Tough month, 40K 6th box, Werewolf Kickstarter due anytime, possibly CSM at the end of the month.

Not sure I can stretch this to fit, will wait to see the actual pre order for the 6th box and any extras before I make my final call.

Keep in mind, this one ends in 34 hours. Not sure if that will fit the pre order for the boxed set.

Should either be up at midnight, or tomorrow morning, think its midnight based on the 6th book release.

Since GW started to implement their "state secrets" policy, I have just become generally more annoyed with them. What has leaked looks like it should be interesting - but it is an interesting contrast between this and that (on so many levels). Figure I might pick up the boxed set after all the clamoring has died down and I can get em cheaper on eBay or through a discounter.

This though - deal ends on Saturday...so for me, it is a no brainer. Plus, I like dragons and giants...this has those in spades.

Oh its an amazing deal. The only stumbling block is the scale for me. If they where GW scale, I'd have pledged already, but the slightly smaller sizes means its only useful for a couple of games.

As I don't use miniatures when tabletop roleplaying, it becomes what board games can I use them in. Less attractive if the scale removes them from pretty much anything GW has done.

Still might pledge though, just for the range of figs it'll add to Descent.

Yeah, that's why I'm not in on this one... I don't do RPGs, just wargames, and can't use most of the stuff. I also have too many random models already so I don't need more just for quantity's sake.

I'm sure lots of folks will find use for at least some of the models, though, and they won't have to use all that many to make it worth it...

But I wouldn't really have a use for the vast majority, and my funds are going to Dreamforge

They are GW sized. Not sure where that rumor keeps popping up from.

Back in the 1990s - Reaper was a smaller scale - in line with Ral Partha at the time. Since the late 1990s and onward though - they have been scaled to match quite well in terms of height as GW figures. Some of them are more slender though. Not true scale slim, but less thick than say a GW Cadian. There are plenty of pictures out there on the internet which show side by side comparisons as well, so you don't have to take my word on it either.

Remember, if you are thinking about this, or are one that is just pledging $1, and expecting to buy at this price with the survey that Reaper has already said they will not allow that. Although, pledging $1, and getting 1/2 paint is also a good deal, and a fig case that holds 150 minis for $25 is not a bad thing either.

Great value. Main reason I am getting it? I was watching Youtube painting videos and the painter mentioned that he really improved his painting bu painting other types of minis. Made me decide to buy some. Well, right about that time this KS started.

Besides, I figure the Chronoscape and Pathfinder figs will get painted and sold, the Nova and IMEK will get kept to add variety to Sedition Wars. The Zombie Hunters I will paint and sell/trade to someone that got in on Zombiecide etc.

A word of warning for UK lot, the taxman will fething rape you.

My missus got her mom to send her 60$ glasses last week, and she stupidly put "60$ value" on the shipping form. It arrived and they wanted £22 to be allowed to hand it over.

£14 for fees and an £8 customs charge!

So you will get raped by the taxman if its $100. Id expect to have to hand over £30 at least.

Anyway, I reckon Ill only use about 30 of the minis, but its too good a price to pass up. I'm also getting mine sent to my mate In Missouri, and then I'm going to visit him for Easter and bring them all home myself!

If anyone has a mate in the states, Id recommend getting them sent there, because that $25 extra will rapidly turn into $75 extra if the fething tax man has his say! :(

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Thats when I knew of them, back with grenadier and Ral Partha, if some one can show me some of the current figs scaled next to GW I might be more interested, although I was under the impression they are not heroic scale, hence the look out of proportion next to the GW range, and I'm a stickler for that sadly.

Not the most helpful answers but this is from the help section on kickstarter

Can people from outside the US pledge to projects?

Yes! Anyone, anywhere (with a major credit card) can pledge to Kickstarter projects.

I'm international and keep getting asked for a US address when pledging. What do I do?

If you are a non-US Amazon Mechanical Turk user you may experience a problem trying to pledge. We've alerted Amazon about this bug. Sorry this is annoying. To circumvent this, you should create a new Amazon Payments account. On the Amazon Payments sign-in page, click "I am a new customer." You will need to use an alternative email address that does not already have an account associated with it.

+1 for this - they are the same heroic scale - but Reaper tends to have less ham-fists and the like... er... usually.

I use their Dwarf and Elf heroes in my Dwarf and Elf armies - mix perfectly.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I've found that people often think reaper is a smaller scale since they dont put the reaper model on a base and compare it to a based GW model.

Scale is pretty gosh darn close as seen in the above pics

So, with it winding down what is everyone else in for?

I am in for Vampire atm, trying to decide what I want for add ons.

I think I might go with
Mind Your Manors
Demons
Mythos Monsters
Undead Giant
Pathfinder Red Dragon
Fire Giant Warriors
Forces of Nature
Deep Dwellers
Nethermaul the Undying

Trading out Sophie to cut the cost a tad.

Then I am thinking about the paint sets and probably a figure case.

I am really on the fence for the paints, since I usually buy a color as a I need it. But with a million new figures to paint I could almost definitely put them to use.

That and I don't necessarily have a use for any of the minis, so I am sort of on the fence with the add ons. They are all awesome and a great deal though, which is sucking me in. I may cut down on the add ons.

Understand that - scale creep can be a bugger to keep on top of. Luckily for me, someone else was kind enough to post up a bunch of pictures above...saves me from hunting, or worse...digging out the camera.

The big thing that you will notice differences on are things like the proportions of waist to height (Reaper is slightly narrower) and head to height (Reaper heads are not quite as large) and hand/foot to head (Reaper hands and feet tend to be smaller). On the table - they look good together. If you get right on top of them - you will likely notice the differences.

I have to ask. I don't play Chaos, but might as Allies with my Cron. Could those Demons be used as a Greater Demons? Would they be size appropriate?

Ah thats a huge change, I only knew reaper from their D&D days. Sadly not seen a LFGS stock them near me for eons.

Thats a massive difference to my interest level. I'm thinking of just getting the one 6th box for now, and get this as well.

I picked up the SDCC Captain America Rescue Version on Monday. And Nick Fury ought to be here today or Monday. Cap a is truly awesome fig the pics just don't do justice. And we all know Sam Jackson is a bad motherfuc.....shut yo mouth! Anyways two of those on one paycheck makes me wonder about my sanity.

But to the Kick! Man I can't believe they broke 2 mil last night. Loving the giants! Want to see what's after the halfling heroes, because I think that strech will be hit too.

Clockwork Dragon!!! That fig is inspiring. Enough that I'd like to run a D&D game where he's the end boss! Can't wait to paint him. Stuff like this is why I luvs me the Reaper.
