I think toradora is especially praiseworthy, because it wasn't just fairytale love. They did not get the person they were after, but the person who was there for them the whole time. It was about love, instead of people in love.

Her character is one you can't help but pity when you look at it closely.
Spoiler:
She is one of the few people who saw the relationships clearly, she knew from the start that Taiga and Ryuji would be together. She was a bitch, but she was a very good person. She put her own feeling aside, and tried to make both taiga and ryuji happy. She was already in the adult world, while they are all still learning about their own emotions.

no stupid yelling to power up, no silly special move names, just a beat down fist fight
Has anyone watched Nisekoi? I'm three episodes in, and I feel like I'm not going to enjoy waiting for the payoff of the show, considering the manga still hasn't reached a conclusion...

Just watched the first season of The World God Only Knows since it was on Amazon. Not my usual thing but it was pretty amusing.
God of Conquest Mode was hilarious, considering finding another place to watch the rest.
I was gonna jump to mystical (mythical?) detective loki ragnarok, since it was.. i dunno.. there. But the first couple of lines from the first person to talk (some high school girl, i think) almost made me throw up in my mouth a little... terrible. I dunno if I'm jaded because I've been watching Japanese with subs for so long or if it was just bad/obnoxious VA... but holy crap.

Yeah, Durarara always had good simple fist fights. Apart from all the monstrous humans anyway.
That was pretty cool, and they got the look of the tie interceptor and bomber right too, (although IIRC, the bomber drops photon bombs, not homing missiles).

One guy did that. Over four fething years. You bet he got all the details right.

The Tie Bomber can launch and drop a variety of munitions, the homing missiles would be concussion missiles.
I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long
Thank you for that King, that gak was all kinds of awesome.

As huge of a star wars fan as I am Star Wars TIE Fighters didn't look all that interesting to me. I'm a much bigger fan of Rogue Squadron and X-wings over TIE's. A story on cheaply made craft flown by poorly trained pilots that fight with overwhelming numbers could be pretty interesting though.
Also the combat scene upset me a bit since they had TIE's blowing up X-Wings and Y-Wings left and right with laser shots that should have been deflected by shields.
So I finally managed to start Toradora, and my entire world understanding may be collapsing in on itself, because in the dub Minori is voiced by Azy-nyan, who voices Mako, and... my brain doesn't know how to process that.

(Hum... guess I'll have to give Toradora a try one of these days )

I saw laser shots bouncing off shields for several shots befor punching thru. Hardly a left and right thing.
WTF random epic wins quota for the day, fulfilled! That movie is *awesome* Thanks for sharing!
I like to think of it kind of like a WoW PVPer's 'I'm awesome' montage or something, there were definitely shields, but there were a lot of ships going around shooting, it's very likely that those ships which were blown up without showing shields had lost them previously in the encounter. This is kind of a sweeping view of of the battle that focuses on the supercuts, the spots that make the ties look awesome Kind of like how you don't see a lot of 10 minute battles where the rogue beats on the healer for days and eventually his friends show up and the rogue has to run away... that's boring.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Watching it again, almost every rebel ship that blows up has shields flicker first. One or two don't, but almost all do. It's just a flash for an instant, hard to see but if you watch close, it's there.

Try watching that video with the old Galaxy Rangers theme song playing in the background instead of the Star Wars music.
It has that rocking Saturday morning cartoon feel
Sir Isaac Newton may be the deadliest son-of-a-bitch in space, but John von Neumann is the logistics officer that eats your problems and turns them into kit.

I've been experiencing that since I started watching anime again. Favarro from Rage of Bahamut is played by the same guy who voiced Bossun in Sket Dance. Every time I turn around, I'm noticing another voice I recognize.
