Nice looking oni. Some good terrain too.

And those little guys are wonderful.

Lovely blog, loving the goblins and the Oni. I think the darkened skin looks significantly better. I love the vibrant red skin though.

Very big improvement Yorkright. Much better. Have you considered doing the claws in a color that would stand out a bit?

Want to say thank you for all the input and kind words, much appreciated. Posting up a army shot, took a bunch of photos of Rashka but could not get a good pic. The one is just before basing, I did give him a thinned violet wash on some of his skin and the green too. Picture really does not show it, sorry. My cell phone is old and really brightens up pictures, going to have to break down and get a new one.

Thanks for checking in!

My relatively new one (S8) does the same thing. Though I'm sure its a better camera than came before. How many rice is that group right there?

58 rice without enhancements. My 50 point list is, the 2 Oni, 4 bakemono and the little sorceror without upgrades.

It will be a real pleasure to crush the bakemono and run away from the Oni.

Posting up some pics of Wednesday nights Bushido game vs Gitz. Fast moving birdmen were too much for the Savage Wind. My latest model had new model syndrome did very little in game and was taken out in turn 2, sigh. We had a few local 40k players stop by who expressed some interest, one so much he ordered a army that night.

Thanks for looking!

Very fun game. You just need a bit of tweaking to your play-style and you'll be all good. You did what I did when I first started... take your big, nasty fighters and charge them out there to wreak havoc... at which point they get mugged by multiple models and killed. Back your big guys up with some little guys and you'll have much better results.

_This_ is the epitome of our hobby: you've got the great battle board, great painted figures and you even get to play a great game! To quote Hannibal from the original A-team "I love it when a plan comes together."

Well done!

@Yneadwraith thank you, the bakemono’s have all sorts of character and have some fun hero’s.
@Gitz you are the reason I got mixed up in this new game, thanks! So far it’s been a very enjoyable ride.
@Meer, could not agree more, Bushido has a good rule set and fantastic models.

Here is the latest addition to my cast, the Nian a Oni hound.

I was scouting through eBay looking for things I never realized I couldn't live without and stumbled on what must be re-releases of the old I-Kore Triads figures. These are 28mm, white metal and fairly decent castings with good detail. I-Kore went out of business, but their molds got bought up by Urban Mammoth and they released everything under the Urban War game head. Their Viridian forces (Marines, Special Forces and militia) plus many of their VASA (police type units- including Archangels which make a very good stand-in for aerial Sisters of Battle Seraphim) are good for us Imperial Guard players.

Thought I'd mention the Triad figures as they might make good single hero types for you and Gitsplitta and other Bushido and related game players. They are colorful characters and have a whole set of Kibuki Dolls who are- as you might expect- heavily armed with traditional naginata, katana and other weapons and dressed as kibuki players. A lot of the street fighters might make good ashiguru leaders.

A thought, anyway. Trying to be helpful. (Must. Not. Start. New. Genre. Must. Not........)

That Oni dog is a very interesting model. I like the color scheme, too. Those in-game shots are a glorious example of what it all can be.

Hey guys thanks for stopping by, sorry I have not posted much lately. Been doing some painting and terrain work for Bushido, here is a WIP of Jun he is a Oni groupie. He gets special abilities by drinking the Oni’s blood and can sacrifice himself to keep the Oni alive.

Thanks guys, the haft is actually supposed to be bamboo. In the finished picture you can see the segments, Gitz gave me the idea, I think it turned out pretty good. The second pic is of the next Oni servant still a work in progress.
