I'm looking to add a few more librarians to my army, and picked up two pretty cheap (although they are finecast, which I don't particularly love). I'm mainly looking to have a terminator one with an axe, but he came with a staff. The other one came with the axe, as shown below.

I originally planned on taking the axe arm from the one on the left and putting it on the one on the right, but the shoulder would be too small since one is power arm, the other is terminator. I then thought about swapping the weapons, which would mean cutting it somewhere near the wrist, figuring out a way to work around the cables going to the weapon, and swapping it all out like that. While going through my bits I found this extra halberd of caliban from my deathwing, and realized it's exactly the right size.

First off, would swapping the end of the staff with the head of the halberd be the easiest solution? Or would I be better off doing a full weapon swap between the two? Can you think of anything else that would work?

Secondly, would a halberd be an okay replacement for an axe? I know some people are really grumbly about that sort of thing. Would it be a good idea to cut off the point of the halberd to make it look like a long hafted axe?

It would be nice to keep the axe on the normal one, as I want a bike librarian w/ axe, and can just cut him in half and stick him on the legs of a ravenwing champion.

The head swap would be easier, however you will have to pin the joint. If you haven't done that before it is a good skill to have and a pin vice is not expensive if you don't get the gw one.

I actually ended up doing it tonight in my spare time, there wasn't much room for it but got a small pin in there.



I might go back and put a decorative collar around where the head attaches to make things look a bit smoother, shouldn't be too hard.

Dunno if it will help, but DoI did a great job doing swappable weapons on the same model.
