TMZ has a report that actor Harrison Ford is seriously injured from a plane crash.

TMZ wrote:Harrison Ford Plane Crashes... Actor Seriously Injured

A small plane piloted by Harrison Ford has crash-landed at an L.A. golf course ... but we're told the actor has survived.

TMZ has learned ... Ford was piloting what appears to be a vintage 2-seater fighter plane Thursday ... when something went wrong and he crashed into Penmar golf course in Venice, CA.

We're told Ford suffered multiple gashes to his head and was bleeding. Two doctors who happened to be at the golf course rushed over to treat the actor.

Emergency personnel arrived to the scene a short time later. Ford was transported to a nearby hospital.

72-year-old Ford is a longtime aviator -- piloting planes and helicopters -- and has crashed multiple times in the past.

Story developing ...

Other reports are saying he only had minor injuries (EG Walked out the plane), and is in a stable condition at the hospital.

I heard this as well. Gashes on his head, but nothing life threatening.

We just lost Spock, God, you can't have Han / Indie in the same 30 day span.

When I heard that he had crashed more than one plane in the past, I couldn't help but think of Last Crusade.

"Fly, yes. Land? No."

Glad to hear he's okay.

Han Crashed First!

But yeah, from the look of the plane it seems like it would be an easy crash to walk away from.

He still has Star Wars movies to make ... Disney will not let him die.

He will probably be fine considering the care he will be cared for by some pretty well payed doctors who are probably the best that harrison can afford.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I wasn't thinking about Leonard Nimoy when I read this. I was thinking how accident prone Harrison Ford was getting of late. He has only recently recovered from an injury for collapsing scenery on the Star Wars set. When in your 70's it takes a while to heal.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I noticed the last bit where the article stated he has crashed multiple times in the past. I guess I should scratch "Fly in a plane piloted by Harrison Ford" off my bucket list.

He did manage to make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, so he can't be that bad.

In fairness, he did have Chewbacca to assist with the landing.

Another article I saw said that he reported an engine failure shortly after takeoff, which makes this a pretty good outcome. An engine failure after takeoff in a single-engine airplane is one of the most dangerous situations you can be in (matched only by things like "the plane is on fire"), and the emergency checklist consists of "find the softest thing in front of you, because in less than 30 seconds you're going to be crashing into it". Having a nice open space like a golf course within gliding range and being able to make a mostly-controlled landing is pretty lucky.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Updates are saying his injuries are non-life threatening so that's good, too.
