See... now if I hadn't shown you guys the WIP... you'd all be too busy oohing and aahing over the paint job to notice the teeth on the chain-blade. That's what I get for being magnanimous.

I actually liked the original pose, as if he is gazing up a hillside while recomfirming the enemies coordinates on the auspex.

Misty is a bit of a smaller venue that has a larger CCG following, but the terrain in my oppinion is better. Never played at Pegasus, though I did purchase my first 40K sets from the store many moons ago.

Well, since it's for a trade I want to make sure the recipient is happy with the pose. I think the original pose was kind of a sub-conscious thing.... because of my glasses I need to look down my nose to read, so my head is usually pointed above what I'm actually looking at. Don't suppose even an old marine would need bifocals due to all the augmentation... but it is a funny thought.

I have an image of sergeant leading the scout snipers out to the shooting range and having to get his glasses out of a belt pouch before shooting!

I like the pose on the swap marine. Think it adds a lot of nice character!

Such a shame about the game - I hope you get a rematch at some point soon!

I think you have to ignore some of the proportions and physic's of the GW world. ... an assisted propelled bolt round goes only 200 +/- feet.. only? really?

Build it for the pose.

Sure Miss Dee... as soon as I get my camera up-and-running again... battery pooped out and I can't find my recharger.

@SL: I agree. If GS didn't like it I'd keep this one for myself and build him another one. I just love the look of the combat blade on there... physics be damned.

I just love the way this blog finds a way to keep going even when I'm not making any progress on my figures! LOL! No wonder it's 216 pages long!

Go ahead... continue to speak amongst yourselves. My parents are coming for a visit tomorrow and I'm unlikely to get anything much done until Monday at the earliest. Anyone planning on going to Adepticon next year in Chicago?? Love to hang out with some fellow dakkanoughts there. Hopefully this time I wont be sick as a dog like last year...

yes during the Badab war when Huron the Blackheart rebelled so did the mantis warriors due to the fact that they were both garrisoned there though shortly after their defeat they pleaded for mercy most were killed but some were allowed to go on that 1000 year crusade to gain forgiveness on pg 57 of the CSM Codex "903.M41 three other chapters- the mantis warriors, Exicutioners, and Lamenters-pledge thier support to the Astral Claws the rebellion escalates drastically" then "912.M41-Present day- surviving Lamenters. Mantis Warriors, and Executioners found to be redeemable undertake century-long crusades of penitence"

That, I knew about... the Badab War was not during the heresy... it's a relatively modern event.

The army I'm modeling are the Mantis Warriors at two different points in history... at the time of the Badab War, and after their crusade and acceptance back into the Imperial fold roughly 100 years later. Basically the beakie stuff is all early period and the insectoid, Mk 7 and 8 is the modern chapter.

Today I received Gits Trade Mini in the mail, and I gotta say, the photos do not do him justice. He is awesome. From the patterns in the wings, to the pose, and the swords. Brilliant!

Gits he arrived in perfect condition. No breakage.
