Curious to the lack of chatter on D-Cannons.
With Strength D blasts at 55 points a shot, they seem like an awesome area deterrent weapon.
Coupled with a Glaive Wraith Knight and scatter bikes, I would think you've got all your bases covered.
If you don't close in, you're in a long range shoot out against massed scatter lasers.
If you do move in, you're dealing with a lot of D blasts.
If you get too close, you're fighting a 300 point D monster.
1,111 points gives you 18 scatter bikes (6 units of 3) 6 distort cannons (3 batteries of 2) and the Lord of War Wraith Knight with Glaive (because everyone loves 3+/5++ FnP with Init 5 D combat attacks)
Then, with a strait face, you tell your opponent that it's fair because you've restrained yourself to only using a CAD.

Aren't ranged-D weapons banned in the ITC format?
Also, the word you're looking for is villains. The current codex is making people yearn for the days when all you had to worry about were wave serpents (because that's all your opponent brought anyway).

They're pretty scary (especially given T7 vs shooting on artillery), nobody's bitching because most of the rest of the Codex is worse.

I wouldn't say that. I think a Stormlord would wreck bike spam if you can keep the Str D guns from hitting. Heck, a couple LR (either Land Raiders or Lehman Russes) could counter S6 spam. Once you allow multiple D weapons, 200+ pt vehicles are unlikely to be worth it.

They are utter broken filth for 165 for 3 of them. Expect to see most competitive lists run 6-9 of them since they are that good.

Break tests.
2 Cannons is easier to hide, and just as effective.
And, it leaves just enough points to squeeze in 2 units of Wraith Scythes, 2 wave serpents and a farseer.

Yeah the D-Cannon is pretty amazing now. Two will kill most vehicles on average, outside of super heavy vehicles, and will splat infantry of any kind at a good rate for their relative cost.
its only weakness being that it cannot target/affect flyers [FMC as well in ITC format..]
Not much of a weakness, I hear the crimson hunter formation is pretty awesome.

True d cannons splat infantry but they always did with s10 ap2 its only against vehicals th'eve really gotten better remember only on 6 will it ignore cover and invuns so even vehicales can get a save(jink /smoke etc)vs most hits.
