Probably Sisters, given the difficulty and rarity of models.

Probably would a space marine legion from Forgeworld.

Death Korps of Krieg if you are doing a blob infantry list.

Horus heresy I would guess

Sister without doubt. Each individual girl cost minimum 6.5 pounds and a squad of 10 50 pounds.

My 2500 PTS army costed me about 650 pounds so far

I can vouch for Sisters being first, but Orks and Tyranids aren't far behind. When you buy units in packs of 10 but field them in packs of 30, it adds up. Not to mention expensive MC's and walkers...

30k Marines are cheaper, because you get more points per model.

The only thing that is more expensive are non-SpaceMarine-FW infantry armies like DKoK or Renegates. If you ad a couple of vehicles to those armies they become cheaper than Sisters.

IG, they populate by themselves, I swear, I started with tau guevesas, then turned into Cadians, catachans, vostroyans, steel legion, dkok, elysians, tallarns, pdf, on and on and on..

Eldar Corsairs. Our troops are roughly $10 cheaper a squad than Sisters, but our walkers and only vehicle choices are significantly more expensive. Unless you chew up points by subbing in Trueborn in Venoms, you're looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000 for a 2000pt army - depending on the exchange rate.

I'd say Horus Heresy.

My squads of 10 Heresy Marines were £61.50, in a bundle that saves some money. I think it was £75 ish without the bundle.

I'm not sure, because Heresy marines are cheap as chips when you start adding to the squad, so big squads work out cheaper. I'm not sure how many points a sister is but I think it's closer than you think.

An army of forgeworld grots or zombies.

I'm going to say Elysian Drop Troops from forge world, £40 for 10 not including backpacks which is another £11 for 10, then special and heavy weapons are even more, and dthen valkyries and vultures stack up too.

The ones you enjoy the most, because you spend the most on them!

In all seriousness I think Sisters of Battle are "winning" here.

i think its funny how everyone thinks FW is more expensive especially marines.... nope, especialyl when you compare to Australian prices.

Fine, using the Pound Sterling, FW Renegades and Heretics are easily the most expensive. You need two upgrade sets (minimum) and a box of cadians per squad of 10 infantry. Unless Sisters are half the points I thought they were, or you use Australian prices, they don't even come close to FW horde armies.

Comparing the prices based on a basic ten-model-strong troop choice (Guard will go with veterans) and a basic heavy support choice... noting that these squads are not optimised, and are just the bundles;

Cadian Leman Russ: £31

Valhallan/Mordian/Steel Legion/Vostroyan infantry squad: £20.50

Its also without bringing into account the fact that GW metals and plastics are at a huge markup in places like Australia, while FW resin is not marked up in Australia.

I'd have to second the Sisters for being the most expensive. Alll-metal miniatures, very small secondary market, relatively low point values per model and few expensive filler models.

If we count in rules and codexes, FW Mechanicum will be a contestor as well. £210 worth of books until you have pieced together all those rules and stats that they managed to spread across 3 HH books.

Collecting a Grey Knight army in New Zealand is probably more expensive than foot guard elsewhere (except maybe Australia). The price of SoB here is nothing short of absurd.

Probably Death Korps, if you want to put lots of models in the TT. The basic squad costs a little under £40 even without FW's ludicrously overpriced P&P yet costs hardly more than basic AM infantry points-wise.

Book 3 has the entire Mechanicum list, I'm pretty sure it has all the rules from the first two books included in the list. But it's still £72 for their 'codex'.

I think Eldar with slots of Serpents or lots of Jetbikes is also rather expensive.

Excluding forgeworld, the other factor is sisters are the only army direct from GW forcing full retail. Every other army you can find elsewhere for at least 20% off.

Actually I believe the single most expensive unit in the game is Horus Heresy Mechanicum Tech-Thralls. Which start at 3 points apiece and are sold in packs of 5 from FW.

But (having a Mechanicum army) that's offset by the fact that the other troop choice is minimum 40 points apiece. My HH army ended up cheaper than my 40k Ork army by far just due to how pricy point wise the models were.

As the prices for the Valhallans/Mordians/Vostroyans/Steel Legion and the price for the Tallarns shows, the Sisters being metal has nothing to do with it, although the excess of METAL!!! in their design may be a factor.

They're sold in 10s now, not 5s. They repackaged them and made them a bit cheaper. But I think money per point they're still up there, definitely.
