I haven't decided yet, however when/if server changes over, i want to cordon off and begin a huge temple of terra, as my current palace has shown it is exceedingly difficult to do with the current height box, so i was thinking of lowering all the land around it so I have a full range to play with.

Right In the last few days someone has been in my lodge replaced loads of wood and cobble with dirt broken lots of fences and take 4 diamonds.
I want to know who had done this!

Someone also has been in my house. I think some diamond went missing and someone had messed a bit with my redstone.

I know people use my portal sometimes, but please don't mess with my stuff.

I hid my portal, due to griefing.

Might build a trap for my stuff...

When/if the server is redone for the release of MC, I probably wont even bother with a portal in my area. Maybe near it, but enough away to annoy petty thieves.

Then again I rarely have anything worth stealing, seeing as I never bother mining down!

really, the best thing you can do is make an elaborate trap room full of empty chests, then place your real goods at a location that you write down the coords and it sits in a few-deep hole at a set location that is unlikely to be creepered

Thats what I do and ive never had anything that ive noticed stolen, ever for the most part.

Or, just have it behind a wall that's exactly like all the other walls, and can easily be mined and replaced- like cobble, or dirt or sandstone. If they don't think there's a chest there, they won't go looking for one.

I usually keep my valuables with me/concealed in a hidden chest. Seems like a silly idea to bring them with you, but I can afford to remake a few tools after visiting the community mine for a bit.

And this is why I only play MP with friends on a hamachi server with password. If they grief I can go over to their house and give them a slap in the face.

-Though- that said, making traps is pretty damn entertaining.

Do this basically. Each house for me gets a slightly newer and larger puzzle to get to the actual valuables. Coupled with my house not having a portal but having one within an alright walking distance has led to me never having anything stolen from my valuables chest. which of course is moved for extra paranoia fun.

Our chests are kept under multiple layers of lock and key with decoy chests around the manor anyway.

Speaking of the manor, could you pm me a copy of the plans? Me and shrike are keen to continue building.

Me and The_Dreadnote removed the wreckage of a tower that was in the centre of dakkatown. The skyline is a much happier place now.

Oh yes, and I'll be using the cobble from that to help build the railway to New Dakkatown. The line will run from the Eyrie and go past Dark's place.

i have given up on my city in the desert, even after much toiling and some bonus materials i am barely more than 1/4 done with my wall and i cannot forsee its completion by the reset.

what i have been doing is flying around in single player on the same seed the server is on looking for interesting spots that could still be there when the server is reset.

Now, this is a very good idea.

Unfortunately the very good idea doesn't work, I tried it and sadly since the server runs on two versions of world generation it is almost impossible to recreate the dakka world.

If you mean Forbes' shattered tower, then I will miss it. I thought it looked cool, like an explosion on pause. Much better than the various cobble monoliths that litter dakka town.

As for trying the DAKKA seed, it will work. You just have to remember that anything within about 2000 blocks or so on the Dakka server was generated pre 1.8. If you fly out to say where the docks are, things should start to match up. If you're trying 1.9pre3, things may have shifted with the new 1.9 biome code. However, when I compared the spawn area in 1.8 to the spawn area in 1.9pre2, there wasn't much difference. Not sure if the differences get larger the further out you go.

Really? In my experiments using the 1.8 generation all of the land was different, including the land generated in 1.8 on the server.

@ Dethklaat: You're doing a desert city? Why didn't you say so? I'd be willing to help out with that- and I have plenty of cobble to donate, if that's what you need.

marzipan309 and i have almost finished our sky tower but we need lots of dirt
also we need a name for the village we are going to build on .
any suggestions?
