I thought it would be funny to have an ork army that used the terms Girlz instead of Boyz, galz instead of ladz, etc. The reason I always abandon the idea is that the obvious word to use instead of nobz is one that some people find deeply offensive and would get me kicked out of the FLGS.

I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctely, but are you confusing Nobs (slang for Fancy People/Nobles/Nobility) with Knob (slang for male genitalia)?

Yeah... maybe make them have an equivalent word like Nobzwoman. Wait... no... ermm... probably Nobx are just fine as remale nobels are just called nobels.

Yeah this is an old rumour and has already proven to be BS... i mean it's an iphone notpad for gork sake! Not exsactly official.

For the record, this rumour (from very early this year) plus another from the same source at the end of last year was very accurate in terms of content. It nailed down Custodes before we knew they were getting a proper release & codex, and accurately gave the order for other codexes & AoS releases around the same time. Releases later in the year were broadly correct but the given dates weren't perfect (such as IK codex and Killteam being swapped around). The reason for this is very simple; GW hadn't finalised the release schedule that far ahead at the time! No one can accurately report rumours for things that aren't yet decided. The reason for the 3 month studio preview window is that GW can and do swap around the schedule up to 3-4 months out, the same as the lead time for White Dwarf.

While it may not be out before the Ork codex, I definitely wouldn't rule out Gorkamorka happening. Everything else from that source has happened in approximately the given order. Personally I think we'll see it swapped with the codex and released as a specialist game towards the end of the year after AT has had a chance to settle in.

It's definitely gak - but Kill Team isn't 'nowhere in sight'. It goes on pre-order on Saturday.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, leaning purely on GW's recent sense of humor here, Orktober. I said it back when we got red and green marines for Christmas and I'll be quite surprised if it's not true.

That said, going by what I see, they never specified an order to the codexes, just that those three were the next ones out. Maybe they said something at a presentation I didn't see, but they haven't specified much of this and a lot of rumors were putting cult at the end of the year. Meanwhile here they are showing up in a boxed game and they're the only faction with minis leaks. To me that says the releases may not be in the order they were originally mentioned in.

The announcement was that the next two Codices would be Orks and Wolves. No order.
Additionally, that GSC would be coming afterwards, with new models.

That is what we actually know so far.

Hmmm... rumour has it from my special not to be named sources that we'll see something Ork related at an event in August.

So, is this thread actually going somewhere then, or can we lock it and keep mum until actual rumours come in?

Good discussions are going on here, so I say don't lock it up, but move it to 40K General.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

I agree with Davor. Does not need a lock, but a move might be appropriate.

Very well then, I've moved it to 40k discussion and left a redirect in news and rumours so people know where to go.

Nobs (slang for Fancy People/Nobles/Nobility)

I've been playing Orks on and off since 3rd edition and I can't believe that I've never made that connection.

Ok, I've known that it was ork slang for Nobles. But it's not pronounced Nobb, as in Door Knob, it's pronounced like knowb, sounding similar to Noble, without the 'L' sound at the end. Of course that makes every video game and other media involving orks incorrect, but what do they know... I mean, c'mon...

Frankly if Gorkamorka is actually a thing that would make me way more excited than a rehashed codex.

I've kind of pored through the old GM manual and it seemed like a total blast.

Fang, son of Great Fang, the traitor we seek, The laws of the brethren say this: That only the king sees the crown of the gods, And he, the usurper, must die.
Mother earth is pregnant for the third time, for y'all have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe, but I was not offended. For I knew I had to rise above it all, or drown in my own gak.

Guys, 'Nobz' is obviously, unequivocally, a pun on the word 'Nob' which is another word for male genitalia. I don't think you spell it knob as someone said earlier.

In the codexes they try to explain it away by saying that it's slang for "Nobles" in Ork terminology. 'Nob' is not slang for Noble in English, I can assure you.
