I just hope stalkers are small, like dreadnought sized. They become pretty much worthless on a weapon destroyed result, they could at least make then easier to hide.

Stalker is probably going to be slightly smaller in size than the Chaos Defiler/Soulgrinder kit judging by the artwork...hope I'm wrong mind you.

At least the second wave has the stuff I've been waiting for (Wraiths. Spyders and Blades). The other stuff, while nice to have, can wait, (for me). Of course YMMV.

Seeing how the artwork, and most conversions, are similar to the size of the Barge, I very much doubt they will be the size of a dread

Personally, as much as I want the Scythes, as long as I can start playing with new Wraiths and Stalkers, I'll be able to last until Scythes hit. Those stalkers look like too much fun and I can't wait to see the new wraith models.

I WOULD care about blades, but I've designed what I call 'Tomb Scythes', small night scythes/doom scythes used almost exclusively by my tomb world

and I've already stared making the gauss blasters, I just need to get the cutting device needed to cut through the thickness plastic card, though that shouldn't be a problem
anyway, back on topic...

Scythes are all I actually want in the next wave :(

Being an old necron player, having started in fourth and staying faithful all through 5th, I want a little bit of everything......

But the things I am most looking forward to most are scythes, tomb blades and wraiths. I have 3 old wraiths but honestly I never liked those models.

Old wraiths where cool, I loved all the old models, they were so Necron.

Now for me it are the scythes that need to show themselves. I nearly can't wait to get my hands on 3 Doom scythes :(

No. Swarmlord and Karl Franz have recently pioneered plastic Special Characters as part of larger multi-purpose kits. More are sure to follow.

But I don't see that for any of the Necron SCs, so it's an academic exception for the most part.

I do expect it for Szera (whatever his name is) actually. I imagine him to be fairly large, judging by the artwork, and it appears that GW are trying to avoid large finecast models now.

How long ago was it? I think they started out making large finecast models, but they eventually decided that it was a bad idea and started making the newer ones plastic (hence the plastic swarmlord/tyrant and Karl Franz). I think they didn't make the old ones into plastic is cause it would be too expensive to reconfigure the machinery.

I really, really want those Night Scythes.

If they don't show up in this next wave I'm going to have to resort to kitbashing a few together!

Let's see....Szera....a top heavy model mounted on thin, spindly legs....yup, knowing GW's business sense.....he'll be in finecast.

I predict that Szera will be a multipart plastic kit that could also build a stalker.

That would be an extremely large IC. I highly doubt that. From the picture I see no reason why his upper body would be any bigger than a regular necron torso.

The swarmlord is also a large IC. And in the artwork his legs are a bit similar to the stalker's.
I think to save money they would make it like that. They wouldn't have to design a whole new set of legs.

I don't think so, Szeras, is standing above some scarabs in the Artwork of him, he's be much more massive if he had some stalker legs. I imagine him to just be a finecast character size.

Also in the artwork he is blasting an Eldar in the face, so I'm gonna say that (in relation to the Eldar) he will be Combi'd with the Stalker

From the picture, it looks like Szeras' legs are about as tall as a Necron Warrior, although he is set a little lower.

Either way an odd fit. The Stalker has no apparent "counter-part" for a Command/Annihilation Barge or Doomsday/Ghost Ark combo the way they seem to try and make them with most larger kits these days. Even its own options are fairly meager. I am surprised they didn't just throw in some sort of heavy support or recon FA-walker just to have a second build and give the kit more appeal.

But if Szeras is indeed the second build, it'll be a T4, 3+ save utility Infantry IC, who can ride with his Warriors in an Ark and all that, but has a model as large as a Dread (if likely less bulky), perhaps even larger. Also odd. Either way, it'll be interesting how it turns out.

Here's the thing.

The Jabberslythe is "one specific kit" essentially. It being in Finecast only makes sense there.

Swarmlord and Karl Franz? They can be multiple things. Swarmlord can be used to build a "generic" Hive Tyrant, and Karl Franz's kit can be used to make a regular Elector Count or an Amber Wizard Lord.

If Szera could feasibly be used as the basis for another big kit--I could easily see it being plastic.

Just some humor I think. There's already an Overlord model, I don't see them making another kit. It's also pretty clear by the codex images that spyders and wraiths will come from the same kit.
