I spent far too long on those Terminator models when I did them.

Good start, look forward to seeing how they progress.

Hi Dr H and Ruglud.

I think I spent the most amount on these just making sure they were perfectly smooth before I started. For some reason bits of dust and fluff had landed on them while they were freshly primed so I spent half an hour with a pair of tweezers on them! True story...

Progress, metals washed, red inked in, eyes dotted, purple added. I used winsor blue, which sure looks purple to me.

I get that sometimes. The fluff/dust/lint thing. I think it is from clothing. Moving your arms about dislodges it from the fabric and it floats around and eventually settles precisely where you do not want it to. I've taken to painting in short sleeves. I'd rather it just end up in the lint trap in the dryer, TBH.

Its a pain when it happens.

Well I've been working on the terminators and they're pretty much done to my tabletop standard, but I'm probably going to take them to the next level with some highlights and wotnot, do somthing funky with the power sword.

Also base washed the whole genestealer hybrid gang in a dark lavender gray. Aprox 10 parts grey, 5 parts black 5 parts blue and 3 red.

Looking very good. Appropriate with Genestealer Culists as well if you've ever read Deathwing.

Cool, thanks.

I've given the smaller hybrids the treatment, drawing entirely on the pictures on the side of the box for inspiration for some reason. I'm gona make the bigger hybrids more prettier colours. Just seen what major tom did to the aberrant - amazing work that. I've gone for more of a bulk paint approach to these. I'm planning on burning through the box in just a few months as there is so much to paint and so little time...

Hybrids look pretty ugly, but I mean that in a good way (they're alien mutants, they are supposed to be ugly!). They are awesome minis, and I bet they were fun to paint!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):

Great work on those hybrids, Weety - they look amazing. The sculpts really lend themselves perfectly to your painting style and they combine to create some outstanding looking models here. I think these might be my favourites of all of the things I've seen you paint recently. Really well done!

Very good have you seen the Macrocosm range by the way? Some of those models will appeal to you.

Wow lots of love for the f3 hybrids, f4 is next to paint.

Januine when you do it'll look the bomb.

Llamahead I just checked it out. I bet GW have tried to sue them on occasion. They seem very 80s retro in style. If I need more squats I know where to go... Plagiarism aside they make other hilarious minis - check this out http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/685203.page

The latest commission project is empire troops. These are painted to a tabletop standard, which basically means I don't paint the eyeballs or do any fancy highlights.

These feature an interesting way of painting faded black fabric, which was to start with blue and add several washes of black mixed with red and brown. The client's suggestion. Worked very nicely.
