My BF LOVES 40k. His army is Orks. He has pretty much everything but he says he can always use more. I have not idea what to get him. PLEASE help. I do not have a lot of money to spend so please keep that in mind.

Are there any books or movies with Orks?

No movies with Orks, at least not 40k orcs. I can't think of any books with Orks (as the main characters) off the top of my head...
A box of Ork Boys or Ork Nobz could be useful to add to the army. Have you thought of other hobby supplies? Maybe some glue to assemble models and some paints and brushes to paint with.

So I'd be safe with Boys or Nobz?

He is very picky about glue lol. What paint or brushes would you recommend?

There are a few books with Orks as the protagonists, a lot of which is unfortunately in ebook/mobi format so it depends on whether or not your BF likes reading on tablets/kindle stuff.

Here's some links:

Other than that, Ork boyz are always good since they are easy to convert, Warbikers might also be a good investment.

What's your budget? (ballpark estmate)?

I've got an idea for a suggestion but would like to know how much you've got to spend before I make it.

Also, kudos for being an awesome Girlfriend and actually asking for some assistance. You're definitely a keeper in my book.

Take it easy.

Lol thanks. I've got him stuff in the past for his army. The rockers orks? Then something I don't seen online, an ork was looking down a cannnon? Idk. I got them cause they looked cool. I've also given him boyz because he talks about them a lot.

I'll make the following recommendations for gifts that will be useful/fun and not break the proverbial bank.

First, Ork Glyph Plates & Doors, which will run you 9.50 British pounds ($14.43 before shipping):

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Ork-Glyph-Plates-and-Doors

Second, the Ork Tranfers Decal Sheet which is 13.00 British pounds ($19.75 before shipping):

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Ork-Transfer-Sheet

Lastly, some Gretchin Crew are always fun for vehicles and the like, and they're 25.00 British pounds ($37.98 before shipping):

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Gretchin-Crew

Those are my suggestions at the low, medium, and higher end of a budget price point for a gift. Also, I'd be very surprised if he has any of these three items, especially the gretchin crew.

Hopefully that helps, and best of luck with your shopping.

Take it easy.

Love that mini, perfectly captures the comedic relief of the Gretchin in the Ork army.

Of the three suggestions above, I think your boyfriend will get the most use out of the Tranfer sheet, since he can use the decals on already painted models, be they vehicles or his Ork Boyz and Nobz, to help individualize them. Bonus points that it's a little under $20.00 (Shipping not withstanding)

Can't go wrong with another box of Boyz also. Regardless I think he'll be happy to get whatever you decide to purchase for him. Hopefully this narrows the field a little at least.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Take it easy for now.

An Ork player, especially in today's game of precision weapon spam, can never have enough troops. More troops, more fodder to absorb enemy fire and occupy objectives in a game.

Although while it's not that exciting, a new set of brushes isn't a half bad gift if his have been worn down and are getting clumpy.

Do the smart thing when it comes to buying people miniatures. USE HIS GIFT LIST or GIFT CARDS

This is important. Just let him decide what to get

The Forgeworld brass etch is pretty awesome too, and not that expensive.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Etched-Brass-Small-Ork-Glyphs

Any of the Forgeworld stuff would certainly be fairly unique and memorable compared to just another squad of basic orks in my opinion, and while I can't personally speak to the other products posted the brass etch is something I have found amazing for just making models look a little personal and flavorful.

*edit*
It occurs to me you may not have a clue what a brass etch actually is. Basically it is a bunch of tiny little thin pieces of metal that go on the sides of vehicles, banners and the like to add extra detail to them and allows you to modify your models and personalize them. Orks, as a race, make everything out of scrap and nothing looks uniform, these help bring that aesthetic to the fore.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I think Forgeworld is the way to go if yo uwant to give him something he may not have.

Found this that is within your budget!

In that vein, I would suggest this:
Forge World Virtual Gift Voucher.

Be aware that their prices are in British pounds, and 1 GBP is roughly 1.50 USD and they have something like 15% of the order total as shipping charges. I'd suggest (depending on how serious the relationship is) something like 50 GBP or 70 GBP.

AND SO THOUGHTLESS. What ever happened when people gave gifts because it comes from the heart and it means something. People are just so ungrateful these days.

If you have to buy a gift card for someone, you shouldn't be buying anything then. Basically you are doing something because you have to and can't take the effort to do so. The Original Poster is taking an effort to do so. So my suggestion is, ask the boy friend what he would like within a certain amount of money. Just know that $20 will not really buy anything good or of substance for a Games Workshop product.

My suggestion, spend the money and get something more Star Wars.

Seconded on all fronts.

Although I can sympathize with the thought of getting something you can't use/sucks/already have from someone who doesn't know what unit you wanted.

I suggest bidding on eBay for an limited forgeworld ork pilot on foot, it goes for about $40-50, it would be very special if he already have everything ork related as this is limited to a FW opening day release.

Thank you for this advice. Sadly he has no list and I do not like going the gift card route. I think I may just get him more Boyz(?). He is always going on and on about how he can never have enough.

We have been dating 3 years now. That being said I am in grad school and recently lost my job due to layoffs. I can't afford that much right now. My BF would actually be upset with me if I spent that much.

That sounds really good. You can always but a little note on it to remind him how he says "you can never have enough". This will mean to him that you listen to him on what he says on his hobby he likes so much and you show an interest to him.

If you can handle it, try and game with him as well or at least paint with him to if that is your thing and don't do it already.

First, you are awesome for trying to find a gift for him related to this hobby. (My wife is accepting of my interest, and only laughs at me a little bit these days. )

Yes, more Boyz are always welcome. You can often get them second-hand for as little as $1/model on eBay (typically in lots of 10). The other posters above offered lots of great suggestions. I will add my voice to the crowd of "play a game with him". It might not be your thing, but I think he will appreciate the offer. Another idea: if you are crafty at all, maybe get a blank t-shirt and some fabric paint, and write "Da Red Wunz Go Fasta!" on it. He will love it. Trust us.
