Those space skinks are nifty. I may have to borrow this idea.

I'm considering the saurus box... but I didn't want to end up building and entire army... famous last words.

Nice skinks! I have been toying with the idea of Lizardmen in 40k for many years, but never gotten around to it. Your skinks are inspiring, I really like the phasers.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

They are kinda cute aren't they Linsay40k. I'm not sure what colour and style to use on them. Lizardmen from the future can be almost any colour... I can't decide...
Lemon yellow with bluey purple scales and red eyes? That'd look proper mad.
Green, a perrenial favourite for lizards, is right out as I get bored of it and I have more orks and dark angels to paint anyhow.
Alternatively I could do a firey orange matched with baby blue scales and black eyes.
Neither of those choices is very subtle!
Thanks for the gun suggestion llamahead I'll check it out.

Photos of lizards would be my first port of call! We get some in our garden who have shimmering scales, like a rainbow trout - I've not yet seen Lizardmen done like that, so there's a potential new approach

Hey Weety, love the new skinks! I'm a big fan of the phaser pistols - they look far enough removed from the Tau tech to look like something new and interesting, and suit them very well. I agree that uniforms would be a little much, but maybe some armour plates or something scavenged here and there?

When it comes to colour schemes, the sky's the limit when it comes to reptiles! Especially if you go for something chamaeleon-y - maybe some natural camo?

Nice guns.

I agree with the lack of clothing; what's a lizard got to hide anyway?!
But maybe something ceremonial/official, to show rank could be added to one or two. Just to give them a bit of character.

And/Or some additions tech' items. They have high-tech' guns, where's their tricorders etc...

Hi Januine do it they are great models, or maybe the saurus would be better?

Had a bash at the utility belts today. My greenstuff-fu is weak today. but I'm happy with the bitz I chose and the overall effect.

Yeah I saw a really cool space skaven army once. Cant seem to find them in the dakka gallery. But looks like a dakkite called Korrben is making 40k beastmen by combining skaven with plastic guard. Cool idea may steal/borrow.

Linsay40k Agreed but they need more pockets gadgets and gismos b4 they're finished and properly utilitarian utility belts.

Anyways I added hand guards to the larger phaser to make it more phasery, and boss lizard gets another arm and a muzzle on his gun.

I'm really impressed with how well you've made those arms work with the 40kified weapons. Especially the two handed ones!

Was the skaven group you were talking about BLACKHAND's ones, by any chance?

No those aren't the rodents I was thinking of. It was fun to look through those again though.

No these ones had white-grey armour plates and lots of cyber-warpstone guns converted from dark eldar I think. They were cleaner looking too, like lab rats...

Mow there's an idea, 40k skaven with pure white fur and blood red eyes.

Now I suddenly want to make a 40k beastman squad. I did it ages ago with blood bowl beastmen, but now I want to try it in plastic and I'm fairyly sure I can get the beastman kit on discount at the moment...

This kitbashing is much easier in plastic!

They look fantastic. Long time ago I did an albino skaven army, was whfb though. Seriously thinking about doing some space rats myself at mo, got some skaven on my bench at mo.

Space skinks are looking spot on too. Nice balance.

Thanks cam. Do the space rats!

On 40k beastmen the only question remaining is will they be cultists for chaos, independent mercenaries or some kind of imperial penal legion... I lean towards penal legion as broken imperial stuff is easy to find on ebay.

Well since your skinks have tau ish weapons, and the tau are all about assimulating anyone, maybe make them tau ish too. You could use them as count as kroot. Eventually keep going you could have a nature based 40k army of mercs.

Though I enjoyed the good old days when in my head at least the imperium was made up of all sorts. Not just cadians. Creation is a wonderous thing and in an infinite universe all is possible. Goat men with laser guns no bother, just look at the platypus.
