So the next white dwarf is going to announce a new campaign featuring space wolves, deamons and dark angels. They get the new wolfen models that where leaked and they are cool as hell. They just escaped from the warp and have join the wolves, grey knights and dark angels are not happy and are going to investigate. Don't know all the stats but they have 4+ with fnp, in 5, 3 attacks, toughness 4 and 2 wounds. They also can run and charge in the same turn and reroll both. They also give a big buff based on a table but it's very complicated so I won't try and explain.

You are WAY late to that party. Folks have known about the campaign for weeks, the Wulfen for prolly over a week and the full rules are in English in the News and Rumors section.

Slowpoke is slow.

Progress is like a herd of pigs: everybody is interested in the produced benefits, but nobody wants to deal with all the resulting gak.

GW customers deserve every bit of outrageous princing they get.

Whilst this is indeed somewhat old news what we'll do is take this thread and use it for general discussion about the new wolves.

Interested parties can see the models, rules snippets etc in the news/rumour thread.

thank you.

That's cool with me, not that I have a choice anyway.

Well that's what it changed it to, I'm dyslexic so I had no idea it was wrong.

At base 15 speed slowpoke is indeed slow, although 3 times that of shuckel (the slowest Pokemon), by why mention Pokemon in a warhammer forum?

I think the new models are hideous myself, I'd try to get some of the old metals or get some 3rd party wulfen heads and do some conversations.

Those feet just make my bile rise up, Urgh.

I've already made some out of the mutilated bits of a couple Reaper werewolf bits and parts from the standard SW kit.

Weapon options: chainsword, lightning claws, frost axe, thunder hammer and storm shield? All in the SW box

All it took was some green stuffing to make them taller made all the easier by modeling it as the fur poking out of their power armor and I also got 6 extra wolves out of the deal for half the price of the new box.

The truly sad part is my pathetic greenstuff true scale hybrid guys almost look better than the official sculpts.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Agreed, however the rest of the artwork for the campaign is amazing, wolves get a new Aquila too!

They look more like they're performing Shakespeare than about to attack something. SW releases have gone downhill since TWC. First we got wolves riding wolves, then a flying shipping container, santa clause, and murderfang the murderous murderer from planet murdercide. Oh I forgot, frostclaw storm fang wolfy wolf. How original...

Luckily I have lots of pre-built Wulfen models from the 3rd ed campaign and from Puppetswar.

Wulfen are looking disgustingly powerful. Between them and TWC, Space Wolves appear to be pushing very hard into assault-army territory. The only thing with Wulfen is that they're reasonably fragile, meaning that you're going to have to figure out some way to get them into combat without dying. Luckily, they are also quite fast and give your whole army free buffs if they can keep pace with them.

I think they are great and very powerful, but still balanced, mostly because of how fragile they are, also 150 points for 5 is a lot.

Oh man that Santa sleigh stopped me from buying the new grimnar there's nothing wrong with my metal one just a bit short.

Sw should be an assault army but this isn't the way to do it.

I think it depends on how easy it is to get them into assault. The Stormclaw seems like the way to go.

Is this a new Space Wolf codex or just the 13th company (or what ever they are called, sorry don't know them very well) supplement?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Honestly, I think this is a hold over from the days of 5th, when missile launchers were common. Meltas are still a thing, true, but most armies don't use Str 8 weapons at range anymore. Grav, Str 6, and strength D are more common.
Certain units like the Riptide will still cause a LOT of damage of course, but they aren't as bad as they used to be. Warriors just lack melee punch for a decent point cost really.

I don't think they are amazing granted, I think they are above average though.

I am so glad I didn't assemble my wolves.

Now I can make them 13th company again.

However I don't think I'll be buying the wulfen models. On top of looking too comical, they'll probably be ridiculously expensive, like all new GW releases. I can convert some.

I shelved my SW for a long time because it became clear I couldn't play them the way I wanted to: big squads of charging marines, bikers, scouts and general CC bad assery with no stupid Metahl Bawks tanks in the way (I own literally one rhino chassis total, a Predator tank)

So I'm pretty pumped for the new rules that might make that strategy something other than utter suicide.

My first test list is going to feature a Wulfenstar backed up by two TW Iron Priests with full wolfy retinue. That brings the majority T to 5, gives me ablative bodies to give wounds to, 2+ armor save or 3++ from the wulfen. Then those guys will be beefing up two big blobs of blood claws.

Past that I haven't figured out a concrete plan for the rest of the list but it should be fun

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

Once again proof that its not only sugar and honey that GW staff pours in their coffee/tea...

God those rules and weapons are absolutly horrendous.

I hope that the campaign ends with the Inquisition and High Lords of Terra Branding SW as Deviant Mutants and banish them, then they will have no choice but to flee, whorship Khorne and be renamed Blood Wolves...*sigh* delirous dreams are delirous...

All I know is that my Khornate Knights using their rules would be happy.

I can finally use Wrathmongers without trying to give them combi-weapons.
