One of the sins I do is that if my broadsides have sky fire and my opponent has no flyers, I will change my list after seeing my opponents. I tend to change the support systems in my list (but always make sure I'm not going over the set point limit).

I run tau decurion against most anything because I'm a noob and I'm still clueless on what's a tough list from other armies.

I sometimes bring two riptides or more riptides

I once brought my sister to a team Tournie and had her play 1000 points of my tau whilst I played another 1000 and I basically played it as if I had a 2000 point army. I said my sis was thinking of playing and I was doing this to help her learn to play and meet the local community. She had nothing to do that weekend and thought the neck beards would be funny.

What TFG-esque tendencies do you guys have, regardless of better judgement?

I some times mix rule editions by mistake and every now and then forget to bring my reserves during the game. I play CSM. I'm that much of a TFG.

I play Eldar and I have fielded at least 1 WK and Scatterbikes in every list since the 6th ed codex was released.

I have won tournaments by fielding Come the Apoc allies (Eldar CAD + 2 Necron Canpotek harvests). Not technically a sin, but it made me feel dirty enough to sell the Necrons on eBay.

I refuse to participate in the "up-scaling" of models, which often means many of my conversions are smaller than the most recent models released. They are always at least a big as OOP models, but can give the impression of "modeling for advantage". I just don't want to pay $100+ on models when I can just as easily pay around $30-40 on conversions that look good and are as big as OOP models that are still valid.

Non 40k because this isn't 40K GD.

I once did used Butcher3 in a 15 point tournament. It felt so good that it was bad.

If it's for casual games then I'm not sure I'd call this a sin as such, as a Dwarf player in fantasy I'd usually ask if I could do this if an opponent shows up with no magic (or only magic defence) since it would just mean we had varying amounts of wasted points resulting in an imbalanced game from the start. For tournaments it's part of the challenge though, i.e- trying to make sure your list is ready for anything, but even then some of them let you bring several lists that can be approved in advance, then just pick between them as appropriate.

My most common sin is apparently thinking that more than double WS meant 2+ to hit, which I've been playing for years without being corrected (though it very rarely comes up I suppose). Didn't realise it only worked in the opposite direction (less than half opponent's WS is 5+ to hit). Otherwise I'm usually pretty good with rules, more so than most of my opponents.

I think the worst sin is failing to remind an opponent of a rule they've clearly forgotten, just because I'm losing or in danger of losing. I've only done it a couple of times, but since I only really play casually there's really no excuse, especially since I'm normally very good with reminders or stopping to let an opponent do stuff they forgot, and even waive ridiculous bad luck like somehow failing a re-rollable Stubborn Leadership 10, or losing your favourite tank to one lucky shot that barely penetrated on a six and so had no right to roll another on the damage table. Do unto others sort of stuff, so yeah, I'd rather lose fairly than win because of an omission, but that doesn't mean I haven't done it.

I have cheated just to win a game along time ao. Not something im proud of, it nags at me.
Taken illegal lists by accident to tournaments. This wouldnt bug me that much except for some reason I though melta guns where 5pts
I once ate my opponent whole after he broke my model.
Y'know, normal stuff.

Well, one time, I played Ultramarines VS Tyranids at 600 points 5th edition. The Tyranids didn't have an HQ, and Tigurius was the Ultramarines HQ.

I felt bad for that.

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

Dunno if it counts, but when playing against wulfen for the first time, my opponent didn't know about the "strike after death" rule, and I conveniently forgot to mention it to him. I reminded him of it the next time we played, but honestly I was just salty about Space Wolves getting such a damn good CC model out of the blue. Seriously, there is literally nothing in my codex that can counter wulfen in CC, and orks are a more dedicated CC codex than wolves, arguably.

Other than that I've gone over by like 6 points before in a match and not told my opponent. Nothing major.

Of course lately, I spend more time picking my nose than painting my models....le sigh.

Those damn wolves I swear are getting worse than Ultramarines. I mean, they're fun to fight against, but even from a guy who likes animals (just look at my avatar), the wolf thing is getting kind of ridiculous. Anyway I'm getting off topic.

Another gaming sin I'm guilty of is calling a Waaagh! after I've already done like the movement phase or something. Usually it's because I forget that I have to call it at the start of my turn, though.

I exploit every possible rules interaction between various Eldar factions to gain every possible rules benefit.

I also play with unpainted minis.

I'm a monster.

Back in 6th edition and early 7th, when I was first starting out, I used to run 3 Land Raiders with a PFG Libby inside (DA obviously), and keep them within 6" for that sweet 4++. Not super killy, but super annoying. I kind of feel bad about it, except most of my friends at the time played Tau or super cheesy Grey Knights, so I didn't feel that bad.

Intentionally gone 5-10 points over in friendly games when trying out an experimental list.

Running Unbound cause I want to try out some new Ork HQ's but not give up FNP.

Accidentally going 100-200 points over (though I usually tell my friend and disqualify myself).

Intentionally cheated a game or two when I was playing TFG.

Most of my "sins" come from misremembering rules and not bothering to check in the moment.

In the Star Wars CCG tournament days, my light side deck was undercover spy heavy on ground locations, and landing claw heavy for space location. Just to be an ass.

For fun, I'd also use a lot of mining droids and hidden mines or whatever the rule was called. because feth you.

Mine are primarily off-the-table sins. I get carried away buying minis and sometimes have entire armies built but unpainted. And I get faction ADD hardcore, Bartertown regular due to that. Though I do eventually settle on a faction I love (Which then tends to expand far faster than I can paint it...)

But, I build lists for aesthetics and fluff, usually get nominated for sportsmanship awards at any tournaments I attend, am always in favor of letting people correct oversights or take back moves, and love to see even opponents plans come together. Although with that said, I do play "seriously" and will leverage everything I can during a game. My lists/decks/playstyle will never be min/maxed netlist types, and tend to be considered underpowered, but whatever my theme is I play it to win.
