Nice job on the Kasrkin, I was worried when I first saw the pic scrolling down you would go with the GW traffic cone orange, but you chose a muted and appropriate color that really changes the character of the model.

Awsome SOB. Looks like she might like a bath, a relaxing and rejuvinating dettol bath. Or are you keeping her to remind you that we all come from ever so humble beginnings? I wish I had my first mini too its fun to look back.

Hey awesome work. You mentioned "banner" - have you thought of using some etched brass for the banner. I am not very good at painting banners and find that this is a neat little trick. very easy to do and very easy to paint.

An example of etched brass Chaos Symbol.

One of the 4 finished salamanders Tabletop standard.

And a colour line test for a tabletop Eldar army. I personally love this kind of ott Tron-esque highlights, but as always, its down to the owner! He will have more Dark turquoise nicknacks and silver trinkets.

How did you do the banner, Lord of Death?

Haha, Smurf, let me know when they arrive and if they exploded or not They left Dublin yesterday so they should be very nearby now.

Lenny, cheers! Wait till they are finished before passing judgement though, I could decide on a nice polka dot scheme instead.

Also, does anyone know the name of the model this is based on? Looking to get one myself and create a mini Brock too.

The salamander, IIRC is basically a walking flamethrower right?

I like the look. Very nice. Also liking the highlights on the Eldar dude.

See, you really should have just sent me 100 of him with eldar heads. Glorious!

Did some bone detailing on Trondar and basic metals. Im leaving the lightning on these for now untill I see more of the army finished so I can choose a colour that won't just get lost in the rest of them

I also made it home just in time yesterday morning. Sun was splitting the rocks, but I did not notice the sky till I was indoors and just missed the downpour. Oh the joys of living on the coast

Haha, by now those figures that come with the "force power" lightning thingies may cost a fortune due to collectors. The ones I used I bummed off of my nephews. LIKE A BOSS. Nah, actually they were the ones who offered them to me. At first I wasn't so sure about it cause they looked a bit cheesy, but now seeing the model painted up and the lightning primed, it's pretty badass. And that's not even one of the better looking ones! I love the way it's turning out!

Aye they actually look pretty good I was worried the primer could cause issues with them but it just softened the plastic slightly and covered well. Going to do this dudes gems on his coat and star on another tonight.

This particular one did not have many details, the others have nice coats and facial markings, so they will be great fun

The Eldar are looking great, love the darker look. Very smooth painting.
The banner was made by bending / cutting the etched brass into position, trying to force it to wrap around the different ridges.
Then super glued into position and painted. (Paint = Chaos Black deliberately making fine slash type effect around etched brass leaving a white circle around the brass. Red Gore on symbol, Badab Black wash over everything. Codex Grey drybrush over Chaos Black section and Blood Red drybrush over Red Gore section).

3 more just about finished bar the metals, needed to take a break so figured it was a good pic taking time.
I rethought some of the colour scheme and felt that the "bone" would be better if I warmed it up in colour a bit and not dull down the turqoise, and I think it does look better now. I went crazy with the gems and they are all different variations of turquoise and blue instead of all being identical

I've learned 2 things about these today.

1: They are Eldar, not Tau as I have spent the last 3 days calling them.

2: They have amazingly lopsided faces, which I hope is down to a dodgy mold but not likely as the rest of the heads are symmetrical.

I spent a bit too long for tabletop quality on the one with robes as I was trying out different bone colours and turquoise blends but hes a bloody lovely model.
