The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

I really liked the previous games, but the 40k universe has really been becoming one of those things I can only enjoy when I'm in a specific mood. Still it's good they're keeping this going, if the quality is good I'll probably wind up getting it.
Pre-alpha footage means that there's huge amounts of room for the game to improve in a variety of ways, so no need for doom and gloom yet. Buuuuut pretty much every single thing in the video looked bad to me- from the base building to the art style to the 12 foot tall Gabriel Angelos to the god damn knight being in every single shot.
I hope the base building shown in the video doesn't make the game become some lame-ass starcraft ripoff. There's far better to emulate when it comes to RTS with heavy base building focus than that mediocre old thing, if you have to have base building at all.

Yeah, that's 'pre-alpha' in the same way Ubisoft games 2 weeks away from release are doing 'multiplayer betas'. That's not a pre-alpha build. Not by any stretch.
And it looks awful. How is that Terminator jumping like he has a jump pack? How are those Terminators sprinting?
This is a different group doing the game is it not? I thought someone nibbled it up when THQ lost it. That might explain why it doesn't seem much like it has regressed somewhat.
Also, the Terminator can leap like that because he didn't skip leg day.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
I can't speak to other heros from the game as we haven't seen any yet, however, reminding that Angelos is now like 70 cybernetic after getting demonreckd at the end of DoW2. That's a fairly reasonable explanation.
Plus it's 40k.. crazy happens, and given that he's the only one doing "crazy" moves that's not something to write the game off for imo.
That said I am extremely excited for this game, and I'll be there to pre-order it, just to anger the "pre-orders are bad!" People.
PPl who optimise their list as if they're heading to a tournament when in reality you're just gonna play a game for fun at your FLGS are bascially the Kanye West equivalent or 40K.

Firstly it's Alpha and secondly most of the things are place-holders (yes including voice actors like for gabriel angelos). Does anybody remember the old alpha footage of the game Space Marine?

It isn't really... as this game isn't being released in two weeks. In fact, does it even have a release date?
Late 2017, with the caveat that this is a very rough estimate and prone to being pushed back. And dear Throne on Earth, I hope they do push it back.

I'm super psyched for this game, cartoony or not. I've been a big fan of the DoW series since Dark Crusade, and I have little doubt I'll enjoy this game just as much as its' predecessors
TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
I will stick to the DoW1 and 2 methinks. This third instalment is dreadful IMO. Don't try to reinvent the wheel- stick to what made the games a success in the first place.
... you don't know what, if anything, they're re-inventing.

I don't mind cartoon environments (I mean 40k can get so over the top grimdark that it turns into goofy schlock, which I'm cool with, plus I like colour and fun) but guys jumping about in terminator amour is too much for me, although I'm sure there is some gakky black library novel with flipping
space marines, but lore consistency is not a thing that 40k is known for so who knows what's canon or accurate.
There is a very infamous book with that yes. In fact, it's the Dawn of War series of books based off of the video games, that depicts Space Marines as generally weak, frail, forgetful idiots who have the strategic and tactical capacity of toddlers.

As i said before it's Pre-Alpha gameplay. The Warhammer 40k: Space Marine Alpha was kinda cool but there were plenty of stand-ins for explosions and good chunks of the game were not implemented in that way (multiple button execution mini-game getting excluded). Not only that but Triple A titles like 'The Witcher' series have had stand-in voice actors in place of the actual main character's voice. They did this with Hitman Absolution as well when everybody was like 'Wtf is the normal voice actor?!'
So seriously guys chill out. Relic does a good job. It's early in the game creation process. Do you guys remember what starcraft 2's Alpha footage looked like in the progression videos? Give it time. If nothing else say you don't like it looking so cartoony so they can do something about it.

Can confirm: a marine in--IIRC; I'm not willing to open that cursed book to make sure--Terminator armour did a back-flip whilst standing on the top of a moving Razorback and wielding a multilaser.
I don't know how I finished all three of them.
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Why are you all viewing a YouTube video of crappy quality when you can get the original in good quality? http://vcdn.computec.de/ct/2016/6/69452_hd.mp4 Also why is Uther the Lightbringer in a 40k game and why does he sounds like such a jerk all of a sudden? Solaria = confirmed canon female space marine. I am okay with this.

She's not a Space Marine though, she's a Knight pilot.
