Want new models. Some of them have held up. Some not so much. With as good as the warp talons are, I'd love new Seraphim. Want new units. Even in the digi-dex not much new happened. Want new book. The digi-dex was an okay stop-gap, but they are getting left really far behind. Their apoc formations are weaker than regular 40k formations, and I still cant justify the cost of a 12 pt sister to a 14 point marine. (+1 WS, Str, To, Init, ATSKNF, Chapter Tactics, Combat Squads, Gladius Strike Formation, and all their other goodies for only 2 pts more than a sister?) Want more fluff. Especially this last one. I was reading through an old thread where some of the more vocal Sisters fans pointed out how they are so rarely featured in any role other than plucky tryhard women who get slaughtered, so as the male readers get their testosterone raging in a fury to read about space marines avenging them. I have read the Sisters of Battle series, but haven't listened to the audio drama yet (Red and Black?). I usually don't like voice novels. Seriously. -Write a story about the establishment of a new Abbess and where Praxedes has gone. -Write a story about the six sisters who were counseled in the golden throne, most of whom where killed by mysterious assassins. -Tell St. Katherines story, or that of the first Abbess Alicia. -Write about some intrigue, where a Sister is sent to the ranks of Repentia for something she didn't do. Write anything new. Sheesh. Part of the problem is my own stubbornness. I really dislike Space Marines, so reading a whole space marine novel for a featured chapter or two about Sisters

I've been out with a girl who had a 21" waist and 38" hips, Marilyn had 22/35, so while not quite double, close enough, considering you're eyeballing a sketch.
Women can be that shape. Especially fictional made up women.
Then there's all sorts of corsetry (which is a feature of SoB) which can modify the shape further..

The issue is that I doubt Marilyn would be 22/35 in power armour. As far as I know, 'they must all be very curvy' was never supposed to be a SoB trait either?

I suppose this is the problem for GW in a nutshell.
If they make attractive and fantasy proportioned battle sisters that meet teenage boy approval, there's the loud cries of womanizing and pushing false standards/
If they make thicker and more realistic proportioned lady-fighters, teenage boys won't buy.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Honestly, I don't care as long as their power armor leaves them shaped feminine in some fashion. The current range of sisters do have some slim waists on some models, but others don't go out of their way to accentuate femininity.
I fell in love with Sisters art and their canon creation story. Their idea and their imagery is really strong for me.

Why does every discussion about Sisters seem to quickly detour into debating their visual aesthetic. The standard power armored sister is awesome as is. Lets get some more Sister involvement in the fluff and release some zoggin plastic kits for the ladies.

There's an easy cheat - you bulk up the outer leg with armor and put large shoulder pads (already there) on them, and you get a more hourglass silhouette without a wasp-waisted torso.

I imagine you've picked up the old 2nd ed Sisters codex - it's great fluff (not sure how much has been retconned).
Personally I really love the Valkir/Dreamforge approach to making new models (and kit-bashing is always fun). However, as a whole I understand your sadness in admiring a faction which is largely ignored. I've got most of the White Dwarf magazines when they came out and there were several scenarios, some special card-punch terrain, even a little extra fluff.
Even then though they were stalwart, no-nonsense...let's all go commit suicide because we're tough, types.

I think aesthetically they capture the tone and feel of the setting better than almost any other 40k model line. Better than Space Marines and better than Imperial Guard. Even though they have flaws they are one of those strong intersection of fluff, modeling, and game play being strongly cohesive. I don't think GW should compromise on SoB for any reason. Quite frankly if any part of the SoB's aesthetic bothers someone, I seriously believe they have problems with the majority of the setting. To be clear I don't mean from a personal preferance level but on a fundamental level of "bothered." Heroic scale miniatures and 40k art are stylized characteurs and like all characteurs they are hyperbolic and exaggerated in ways prescribed by the chosen style, they aren't realistic. GW shouldn't depart or diminish its artistic style.

This modern day "your depiction defends muh" stupidity pisses me off - look ladies, not everyone resembles a shapeless mound of flesh, and no, being 50+stone overweight is not healthy, and quite frankly women who have been trainied for combat are probably going to look closer to the Sisters we have now than to the Mconalds regular some want to push on us.
Update the Sisters to plastics, but keep the same look.

Thanks dude ( or dudette) I really thought that I was alone in wanting the original aesthetic.

Sorry, I got a little pissy there, that was my bad. Shall we just say I have had some run-ins with these SJW kind in the past and it has left its mark.
No, I can see where you are coming fro with regards to the armour, but then again what would you change it too? You see, the problem you have is that the Sisters armour and look is well ingrained with over a decade and a halves worth of miniatures and art work that has left the image of the classic 'corset armour' firmly ingrained as part of the Sisters image. In fact, I would argue that to change that now would actually be counter productive as many fans would be unlikely to be open to such a classic and well known look and style being completely changed.
Then you also have the aesthetics and feel of the backdrop to consider too. Ther Imperium is very retro/medieval in feel, and the Sisters in particular take that to an extreme. Look at their armour and theme and you can really see the heavily religious and superstitious theme, the gritty, grimy era, the whole holy crusaders set out to protect the innocent from the tides of evil..... Or I can anyway.
TL;DR the current Sisters image fits in very well with the theme and setting of the army and background, and even if it did not changing one and a half decades worth of imagery would most likely be heavily counter productive.

I dunno, man. Appeals to tradition have never been very convincing to me. Dark Eldar and Necrons were completely overhauled and I'd say they were better off for it. Well, the Necron lore is not without issues, though we're talking models here.

Dark eldar still kept certain aesthetics as did necrons, the TK in Spaaace is all well and good but completely changed them from the object faceless horror they were.
Was it good? Certainly in some ways, they are still though effectively metal skeletons,
As dark eldar are spikey eldar, reworking the aesthetic of a range can go from urgh to good as in the case of Dark Eldar, or from screaming horror death bug to goofy looking carnifex. I personally don't trust GW to sculpt female figures (at this moment) as they probably will either be to overboard or very demure.
If you object to the corset, high heels, and boob plate, and in some ways I can understand this, I mean the zips and things are a little silly. But do you want sisters of battle or do you want generic armour no 402 that only difference between them and a space marine is the odd fleur de Lys and Bob hair cut?
This whole argument is mute anyway as they are never going to come back. I just wish GW would squat them finally instead of this limbo they are currently in.
