By making them walkers (as they should be anyway), this would allow Terminators to gain the Centurion stat buffs of +1T, +1W and possibly Slow and Purposeful or Relentless instead without still being invalidated due to Centurion's superior/OP grav.
This would buff Terminators and make Centurions different without stepping on their toes.

Why should a Centurion be a walker? It's a larger suit of power armor that interfaces with the one of the wearer.

How so? Killakans are walkers and they're tiny, plus the Defiler is one too and that dwarfs sentinels... So I don't really see your point Automatically Appended Next Post: Ashiraya wrote:SGTPozy wrote: TheCustomLime wrote:Why should a Centurion be a walker? It's not really another layer, it's stepping into a machine and piloting it

By that logic Tau battle suits should be walkers too.

I'd hardly call a suit that can be used for close combat "clunky".

A Centurion Suit is as much of a Walker as a Dreadknight, Crisis Suit, Riptide or Stormsurge.
Also, it still behaves more like an infantry unit than a walker one.

I think Centurions should be Walkers.
I'm also of the opinion that Crisis Suits, Broadsides, Ghostkeels and Riptides should be walkers - though that complicates their interactions with drones (I've had a few ideas on that though).
Dreadknights too, while we're at it.

My silly answer is 'Centurions should be deleted/radically redesigned because they look ridiculous'.
More seriously the Walker/Infantry/MC divide is frequently pretty arbitrary, but in this case they're pretty small to be Walkers or MCs. If you made Centurions Walkers the can of worms on what needs to be upsized to Walker/MC would be a pretty large one (Crisis suits, Hive Guard, Thunderwolves...).

No they should not make dreads MC's. They should boost dreads so they are worth it and change those that should be walkers to walkers rather than MC.

Why not get rid of AV all together. Everything has a BS – WS – S – T – W – I – A – Ld – Sv.
Maybe vehicles never have a Sv value outside of cover or a X++ due to force fields or what not. Instead the vehicle would rely on a high T value to render small arms useless against it. High S value weapons would still be effective with D weapons being very effective.
Vehicles would have a S value for ramming or CC (when combined with a WS value above 0).

Then you would need more special rules to account for differences like immunity to poison. Destroying land raider or emperor class titan by firing poison darts is just silly.

At this stage removing AV entirely and implementing a special rule similar to that the 30k Mechanicum Cybernetica have to current vehicles would be better.
Basically have Haywire act like Poison (4+) and Armourbane & Melta like Fleshbane or something similar. When a vehicle loses its last wound roll a D6, on a 6 it Explodes. Or something like that. Maybe even have an effect where Attacks with a Str value less than 5 can't damage vehicles unless they have Haywire/Melta/Armourbane/Rending/Lance.
Speaking of Lance, not sure what kind of effect it would have...
Then things like Dreadnoughts could be T8 with a 3+ or (preferrably fluffwise) T6 or T7 with a 2+ and 3 Wounds while Rhinos could be T7 with a 3+ and 3 wounds and Land Raiders could be T9 or T10 with a 3+ or T8 with a 2+ and 4 Wounds.
Ork-wise Trukks could be T6 with a 4+ and 3 Wounds, Warbuggies T6 with a 4+ and 2 Wounds, Deff Dreads would be like Dreadnoughts, Orkanoughts could have Land Raider-like stats but with 5 Wounds.
etc. etc.
But that's probably more than a bit off-topic...

I agree with all the USR fixes that would have to be done but feel the T value of vehicles would have to be closer to their current forward armour value. At T 10 for a Landraider, a bolter could still glance it.
I also go back on what I said earlier. Maybe vehicles do have a Sv value by default. This keeps the meaning of T and Sv consistent.

Str 4 can't wound T10. Admittedly, Str 6 & 7 (and 5 iirc) can, but unfortunately there isn't really a way to fix that easily. Hence why high saves are necessary for tough vehicles to at least make it difficult.

Agreed but removing a whole load of special rules and exceptions for Vehicles whilst retaining the basic S vs T and Armour / Invun Save is surely a huge step forward.
Many of the current Monstrous Creatures are certainly not that and just described as such as GW can't be bothered to fix the Walker issues.
Walkers (and most vehicles) suffer so badly with the damage chart compared to creatures.
