Don't think it's too late in the year to kick this one off, as we've not had a great deal of attention (and fair enough, 2016 was a storming year!).

Question is simple - what is it you're wanting from AoS releases this year? It can be anything - specific armies, novels, updates to existing Battletomes, terrain - you name it.

Me?

Grots. I love me some Grots/Gobbos/Goblins. They were prohibitively expensive in Warhammer, as you'd need very large units, the majority of which wouldn't do owt except die.

But AoS? It's rules mean if I get a bit cunnin', the tiny little green ones can make with the stably in unprecedented numbers. Plus, with the advent of Silver Tower and the frankly brilliant Grot Scuttlings, I can't wait to see what the Mortal Realms have made of the humble Gobbo.

And I'm ready and willing to entertain pretty much anything they might come up with.

Honourable mention? More novels like City of Secrets. Between that and the promised background in Hammerhal, they're starting to ground AoS as a war of mortals rather than demigods.

Hoho! This will be a long list for sure.

-Grots certainly need their love, but I'm wishing that that love will start with the Moonclan. They should be getting some squig themed units (and they could sneak in a squiggoth with that).

-Greenskins: The normal Orruks need to make a return and have their fluff fleshed out. Nomadic brutes are nice, but nothing beats the classic Greenskin plunderer.

-Morghur: It makes sense that a creature of pure chaos that can't die, would eventually return to the mortal realms to sow some anarchy. Give him the Archaon treatment and make him about twice the size of a minotaur.

-Now that the Troggoth are a seperate entity, they could really do something with that.

-Death needs an upgrade. Been hearing about some (probably non-true) rumours about Krell making a return and becoming a big bad skeleton lord character. A Grave Guard themed army would be great.

-still on the death faction: give us a soulblight army. GW is willing to enlarge the scale of the powerlevels of all the factions. The Vampires could be that for the Death Alliance.

-Bretonnia needs to return. They can be Ghost-like Green Knight themed with their premise being "only appear when the forces of order are at their most perilous.

-a return of some small factions from the Old World. I'm talking the likes of Hob-Goblins and Amazons.

-faction based feuds. I liked the fact that Night Goblins were primarely the nemesis of the dwarfs and that the Lizardmen had something against the Skaven.

- finally: some real-world culture: I know that they want to step back with that, but some of the best fantasy franchises (in my opinion) try to balance their over the top fantasy stuff with some architecture and clothing based upon real world civilizations. What I am also saying with this is that they can really get crazy with this and base their factions upon societies and communities that are les popular among the crowd, like Indian or Byzantine.

Some of these are a lil' asking too much, but hey. This is wishful thinking and the best case scenario for me.

EDIT: because I forgot two things I'm sad about that isn't around anymore.

-Drachenfels making a return. I don't care if he is a Death faction or a Destruction faction. This evil man needs to return to the mortal realms in some way

-Orc Arrer Boy models returning. Is it just me or are the Orc Arrer Boys the best Orc sculpts made by GW. That and the two handed Goblin Big Boss

Though I don't plan on playing Death right now, I'm hoping to see them get something. Anything, really.

I'd also like to see Slaves to Darkness get lined out a little better. Right now, they just feel like a "fill in the blank" assortment of units for other Chaos forces.

Anything for Beastment would be cool, too.

Haha, indeed more background mortal books and rpg elements.

I love the Stormcast but they have been a bit overused for the novels. It takes away from their unique position as elite demigod warriors when they appear to show up everywhere. It'd be the same for say the Grail knights of Bretonnia if 3/4 of the novels focused on them over the regular knights and soldiers.

Better they make more subdued appearances now that the mortal realms are being settled again. Stormcasts on quests, explorations or showing up to turn the tide of battle would be better from them now that the setting has advanced IMO.

(It'd fit with the theme of most fantasy settings as well with the legendary army from long past making way for "inferior" armies of the present.)

Long-winded thoughts aside, I want the realm of light, focus on human and aelf knights like from the Azyrheim Lancehost and Order Draconis, free people battletome and possibly a descendant of Bretonnia with either the rise of the kingdom of Volpone, rebuilding of the three Duchies or a entirely brand new kingdom.

Haven't been disappointed with the releases so far so I can wait.

Aelves, and whether there's anything 'high' left in them, or if they've all gone 'dark' self-harmers like the Silver Tower models.

I'd like to see the Fimir from Forgeworld. We know from previews that more are coming, so I would be all over those once released.

Now that we have Tzaangors, I'd like to see Pestigors and Slaangors. I'd also like to see Khorngors, based on the 3rd edition metal Bloodletter sculpts.

Every faction to get a decent Battletome like the Stormcast/DoT ones.

Seraphon to get new Saurus sculpts/some better lore. Maybe a few books, as they only feature in two books from the World that Was. And even then they're in about half of both, so one in total.

Other than that, Stormcast to be put on the back burner for half a year at least.

Aelves, New death stuff, growth in matched play. i'm interested to see how GW handles having a type of play specifically designed for tournament/competitive gaming for the first time...basically ever. You could argue fantasy but I'm not sure they ever meant for it to be as competitive as it got.

To see how the GH2 changes things.

I don't know if you've read the Pestilens book, but the Seraphon feature prominently there. Its worth a read for those interested in Seraphon fluff.

secondly Death!.
it is the only grand alliance that has not recived new models and it desperatly needs more content, mutch love and options for each sub faction. 1/3 of the alliance is still in the gakky resin that is website only option.......
sadly i have a feeling that GW dont even want death to exist whit all the fokus on the cheesy sigmarines or order spesificly.

However, background wise Nagash is definitely up to something. He's intrigued by the Stormcast, recognising similarities to Necromancy, but without the downsides.

If memory serves he has, definitely had a Stormcast held hostage - and was intent on peeling him like an Onion.

So where that might lead, who knows?

And yes. MOAR QUEST.

I am really looking forward to steampunk Duardin. An all flying dwarf army with jetpacks and blimps has the potential to be really awesome. I am also looking forward to seeing where they take The Aelves.
In terms of the health of the game I think they need two more death battletomes and another destruction battletome. With destruction it is easy to imagine a spiderfang book, a moonclan book or a book full of trolls and giants. With Death it is much more difficult to imagine where they could go.
I am also hoping for another aos themed boardgame with new minis like silver tower.

Number one would have to be Death getting some new things. There is so much they could do with them.

Aelfs dark and high would be great to see and again so much potential.

More scenery for AOS as I have bought most of it already and would like some new pieces to add the board (not castles and forts).

Frost Sabres being viable. Bonesplitters having their own big beastie. Dragon ogers getting their own wizard and battaloin.

Chaos dwarves or Cathay army.

There is a lot more but these are the things I would really like

I only get to play during the summer (annual campaign).

I'm doing chaos dwarves this year. So what I want to see is forgeworld updating the rules for chaos dwarves because they are really needing an update to keep up with the newer books (yes I realize a lot of armies need that update)

Greenskins Battletome - I am working on Ironjawz Orruks right now, and I am enjoying them. But I would like to incorporate Greenskins too at some point. My dream army right now is a piggy army consisting of Gore-gruntas, Boar Riders, Boar Chariots, and Warboss on Boar. I want a piggy Waaagh!

Another Summer Campaign - I missed out on the campaign last year, and would really like to contribute to one. I hope it becomes an annual occurrence.

Abstracted Scenery Rules - While the chart works in the rules, I would rather have simplified rules for terrain's interaction with models and units. Such as "half speed to move through this" or "an additional +1 to the model's Save". Something blanket that covers different terrain types that can be figured out by looking at the scenery.

New Battleforces or other Bundles - The Start Collecting boxes are awesome, and the Battleforces that GW recently released are also awesome and gave variety from the Start Collecting boxes. Hopefully they will keep up this awesome trend.
