Hi guys, I havn't seen anyone mention this yet, but in one of the images in the gathering storm book page on the GW website:

The large battle between forces of the imperium and chaos... there is a force of custodes and sisters of silence at the top of the image, with a golden land raider and a golden rhino...

I knew the SoS weren't gone, ever since reading about Silent sisters serving aboard the Inquisitorial black ships!

I think you will find that will turn out to be grey knights rhinos and land raiders with the pic having a filter that is gold in that section of the pic. There's a dreadknight standing next to the land raider and I believe I can see grey knights markings on it as well.

I'd not be suprised if it was custodes though, I imagine GW'll eventually release a codex for them once they release the minis in a stand alone box.

Look at them better. Grey Knights do not have that red plume on top of their helmets and the standard bearer has the same pose as the one holding the dagger:



The figures next to the Rhino have big 2 handed swords and some kind of "plumes" on top of their head, in their case, the hair.

Yep, they look Custodes and SoS to me. Mankind is going ALL IN!

Certainly looks like a gold Rhino and LR behind a squad of SoS and Custodes respectively. But the centre of the pic also has what looks like BT in front of a Ultras LR. Not to mention there's a distinct lack of flying going on with the Rhino.
Still the pics interesting as it shows Custodes and Sisters fighting alongside Robute's forces(including some Eldar) against Magnus. Something that happens before he gets to Terra IIRC.

I am seriously hoping for an expansion of the options for Custodes in 40k. I'd absolutely LOVE a full-on codex with all the Forgeworld goodies, however I imagine that won't happen.

I'd settle for the unit we have now, some kind of FOC, an HQ unit, and a Landraider (we can convert ourselves).

I'd hope for either a unit of Custodes Terminators or a more shooty unit of Custodes (although I'd love both units).

They look pretty golden to me...

The rhino is pretty much entirely out from the filtered area, and is quite clearly gold.

You can also see a distinct colour difference between the dreadknight and the land raider... the dreadknight is less yellow, despite being further inside the tinted area.



So whoever they belong to, both vehicles are definitely gold.

Is that a black jet bike of some kind next to the templars? Looks almost like Dark Eldar in there.

Finding a 40k game is hard for me these days, I could never imagine collecting a 30k army. Custodes have me tempted though.

How bad is it when you try to fight 30k vs 40k armies? I wonder how a 30k Custodes list would fare in 7th ed 40k?

I agree. The presence of the Custodes infantry kinda speaks to it as well. I don't think it's a silver tank reflecting yellow light.

Iirc these were done up a while back and showed up with the Gold Custodes Contemptor - I wouldn't be surprised if this was the Studio painting some stuff up for the rules in Inferno for 30k.

I doubt it. There are no 30k Custodes Land Raiders. Even if there was I would think they'd use a 30K variant. It could just be a studio or personal model someone did for poops and giggles.

Considering it's right next to a bunch of Custodes on foot? Yeah. Some people might think that.

The scions must have a hitched a ride in that ultramarine crusader as well then, not that's wrong isn't it, that's a scion land raider that has some strange resemblance but is totally unconnected to the ultramarine chapter, because the scions are right by it, so it must be theirs.

Should I mention that Custodes have the Bulky special rule meaning they could never embark on a Rhino?
