Drools... Awesome paint job (pun intended). And just a little question L.B if you don't mind, I was just wondering what you use to water down your paints. Thanx

Hey bloodthirster,

When I paint I always add Liquitex stuff. Flow Aid and water. If the water is too much and I need to thicken it up I'll add a little more paint. If I like the paint thickness I'll add Liquitex Matte Medium to keep it from separating.

if you go to his website at awesomepaintjob.com and look at the part two of the daemon video tutorial you will see how he mixes and what consistency he uses for his paints. he also teaches you how to make blood. pretty awesome stuff. another great thing about his tutorials is that he gets the camera angle right unlike some of the ones you pay for, and the videos are in HD and stream great on his site.

Thanx Do you think the ultra forge plague daemon tut would work on the FW nurgle daemon prince? I've always wanted to pick one up and your tut is helping that cause!

@bloodthirster- yeah man, especially on another nurgle model.. The FW version is huge in comparison to the ultraforge one but the technique will work the same. Maybe using slightly larger brushes

Update for stuff in work.

Aww the ultraforge treeman! Its such a cool little model! A little cutsey, but a characterful sculpt all the same.

Actually you can make it look quite menacing with the right paint job.

I really love the Ultraforge daemons, I have one of the Wardemons myself.

Was testing out a scheme for my rangers and I think I like this one. I didn't use the codex aspect colors for my guys so don't burn me for it. I'm keeping blues and browns as the main colors for my eldar.

P.S. I didn't strip these models (your will see roughness on base edges and misc in other places >.<when I got them from Rod because I want them ready for a doubles tournament me and Spencer are going to, but I think they are turning out fine compared to the competition there. Me or him are getting best painted army. Yup.

That scheme is still better than if you were to choose a craftworld imo. What color / brand did you use on the robes?

LB, i don't think you will make the deadline if you paint all the gems in the army. lets see the fire dragons , you said you touched them up .

What? A negative attitude toward my deadline from the meditation guy? Bad form Rod! lol Gems were easy only took like 5 minutes to do them all
.. And fire dragons look the same rod.. I put a sepia wash on them to define the lines but that's it.. you will not be impressed, and you cant really tell I did anything.

Spencer can tell you that they look exactly the same as when I got them..the wash only shows on the toes really.. And I'm not taking pictures so you can see the toes lol.

Nice colours scheme Les, not sure about the gun though. The gold seems to blend into the khaki a bit too much, but maybe its just the photo.

Id like to see a group shot, armies always look cool together

Update! Finished my Dire Avengers and Rangers.. I also tried making terrain for the first time using a woodland scenic kit and I now feel confident in making my board

These are my tabletop standard.. 1 color base coat and a little drybrushing, then in the dip they go! And here's what you get.

Just finished up a test model for Hordes Skorne Beast Handlers. The customer wanted me to try and match the privateer press pictures and I think I'm close enough

The only thing I did differently is the gold.. I think they did a sort of NMM using a leather brown as a base and yellow on the raised detail. I used metallics just because I love painting gold hehe.
