If there are still only three strongholds per world in the final release, I vote that strongholds are public domain.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I vote strongholds are first come first serve, if someone is nice enough to donate one to the public domain then more power to them.

Well if they do remain at 3 per server, if we end up with one that has an intact end portal frame, that one at least should be public.

I vote public domain also, perhaps with planning permission to craft corridors with private rooms and such that all come off the generated stronghold, which acts as a central hub, like a spiderweb.

EDIT: Although I won't be on much, so my vote isn't exactly the strongest

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I'd say one with an ender portal should be kept and preserved, and any after that are finders keepers.

Hmm? I didn't think you were being flippant. I was just providing the link to where I had heard about the 3 strongholds thing. Sorry if it came across wrong. I do hope it is wrong and there are more than 3.

This issue is still occurring in the release version, but I need to see if it's a bug on my system, so I'll test it on another system and see how it goes.

after quick testing-
fences don't have 1 metre hitboxes, and are now only where it physically is (like signs or iron bars)
end stone is fairly blast resistant (TNT encased in a 1 block thick layer of it leaves behind 1 to 2 blocks remaining.
netherrack is now darker.

EDIT:
Just killed the ender dragon with Chompy on his server (using creative mode) and the end credits are... odd.
Notch is obviously trolling us.
I'll upload screenshots once my photobucket actually starts working...

Just noticed in those screenshots- bows now have durability, apparently.

Yeah, I remember seeing much of that in RC2...

Does that Dragon Egg actually do anything now or does it simply do the same teleporty shenanigans?

I think I fixed the new world. According to MC Edit's forum page on the spawn point:
"Minecraft's weird rules: y=63 and y=64 must not both be air, and you must have three air blocks above the spawn point."
I removed all the swamp trees from the spawn area and now the spawn doesn't jump away to the bottom of an ocean.

I can now continue pasting in the structures! ...If it weren't so late and I have to be up early and then out all day tomorrow. Hope for progress on Sunday!

You can always build an underwater base area for the spawn point.

Is there a new server address or its the same one?

Could use glass as well if it can be protected. To even save time you can use Arcadia if you haven't placed it yet. I was rather indifferent to the transfer of it anyway, others want it more than me.

Any structures placed at the spawn point cause you to spawn on top of them, not inside them, so Arcadia or a similar structure would not work I am afraid. An oil rig like platform or ship would work.

When the new world is ready (with whatever solution we come up with), it will be the same address.

Behind you

What about a 7*7 open area at spawn, walled but not roofed, with roofed passages leading off into the various areas. skyways should be built to the first tier connecting structures, including the netherway station. Also have a non-building policy within 300/400 of the spawn. (demolition enforced)

IIRC the no-build section is actually ~500 blocks.
