I am thinking Imperial Fists myself. I don't think their chapter tactic is great but I like the army story.

Raven Guard is awesome for them, as they have a stratagem to deploy their CT units at more than 9" of enemies

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion & X-Wing: CIS / WWX: Union

Now is the time to make your own Chapter...or use a rare Chapter. I don't understand why so many folks feel compelled to go with the basic Space Marine chapters.

There are heaps of cool options out there. And you can't really be faulted for using whatever codex you want.

I'm doing my own chapter, thought I'm not sure what tactic to choose. I'm not even sure at this point whose successors they're; probably Imperial Fists or White Scars*, although I don't find either of those tactics particularly suitable for the style I had in mind. I really hope FW updates their tactics so we have more to choose from.

(* This one is particularly unfortunate for all-Primaris chapters. The stratagem affects bikes only which the Primaris do not have...)

Aurora Chapter.

Because I like the colour scheme and I've been sitting on those limited edition transfer sheets they put out a while back, but I never started them since it always came down to "how is this any different from my vanilla marines, Space Wolves or Blood Angels?"

Well, now I have a way to make them different. AND keep the army small/elite to reduce cost and painting time.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Fire Hawks because the only good thing about the new background is that it allows extinct chapters to be brought back without questionable means.

I'll try to tie them to the Deathwatch/Inquisition because I'm only planning to have a handful of Primaris models, so a full army is out. Being part of an Inquisitorial strike force makes the project more reasonable as I really don't need any more Marines at this point.

I'm doing the same thing because Im extremely indecisive with marine paint schemes, I love so many, so this will let me paint a little bit of everything, and it was super fun doing lil conversions to make each member of the starter set stand out a bit. Some just got extra grenades, some are massively converted (my Iron Hand has the robot arm from one of the pox walkers and a robot leg from Kromlech, etc) And, I'm using the Primaris to put extinct or rarer chapters into the mix. One of the squad leaders is a Soul Drinker, after all

Flesh Tearers, with Black Templar Chapter tactics. They've been a dying chapter for a while now and the Shield of Baal campaign didn't help things. Time fore some Primaris replacements.

I'm thinking Red Scorpions and picking the chapter tactic that works best for the scenario. I'll have to see some more details on the Iron Hands I'm going to need a little bit more to go off than 6+ "FNP"

Ultramarines because girllyman and lots of other named characters and support. Other CT might be stronger, but Ultramarines will always end up with the nicest new things.

Don't ever think I'll make IH Primaris marines. Don't want to do that much conversion work anymore, and the lack of support and care from GW tells me it is a bad idea.

Teaches me for building an entire complete chapter of IH. Granted my painting is so bad it is an utter embarrassment and makes them not worth showing off imo.

Dark Angels because I picked up the Dark Vengeance miniatures at the same time as the new set. I'm not really sure they fit in with the secretive hierarchical nature of the DA but they do look good in green and red.

Agree, yellow does look very cool when done well. Blue and Red I have always found easy to paint though.

My own chapter the aqualia legion yes legion because they do not follow the old codex. Even making a little story up about them being used to subdue some of the high lords for treason.

Nice simple paint scheme bone, gold and black only use primaris stuff no squat marines.

Most likely as Blood Ravens, to go with the rest of my collection. But potentially as Ravenguard. I've always loved their simple scheme.

After I finish my BA terminator force my primaris will be be Inceptors and Reivers in a Raven Guard force along with assault marines and some other non-primaris units.

Because Raven Guard are my second favorite chapter (behind BA which I love because Sanguinius Died For Your Sins, and in front of Sallies who I like because they of all chapters have demonstrated the most that they have functional morality beyond "kill the enemy") primarily, but now I have even more reason to do so because of the RG chapter tactics.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
