To be honest, it looks alright. Or at least, the colour it is SUPPOSED to look like when I started it. I'm going for the Cartoon Sabretooth look, so he isn't 'supposed' to look like he's got hyper realistic colours.

I'm thinking I'm going to aim for a darker toned, grittier Sabertooth. Did you tend to go for a cartoony look for the others? I didn't really think you had, but I'd just suggest going for a look that makes him feel like part of the group (which I realize is kind of ironic, since we're discussing Sabertooth).

I also think we need more people on here getting involved in this here game. What are all you guys waiting for?!

I had a barbecue, then ran a Pathfinder game at a state park.

The game got taken over by a bunch of random short people that al thought that the game was fascinating. (I blame using the castle from the Reaper Bones Dragons Don't Share set....)

The grownups that were supposed to be playing the game filled their faces and watched random small strangers playing the game.

It is always good to corrupt a new generation.

The reason I bought rules and became a real wargamer was because I wanted a properly thought out structure to govern the action instead of just making things up as I went along.

Kind of. - I'm certainly using the cartoon schemes when I can. - Generally speaking though, they aren't quite as bright as Sabertooth and Toad though.

I played a game of warmachine mk3, used a juggernaut to squish my opponents caster on charge . Good times we had by all. Then I built the new trollblood box, sealed some random minis that I had finished and started some highlights on a DA tac squad. Now I need to start some planning on what khador minis I want for the Journeyman league we are starting here.

Observing how an Army Painter wash & varnish thingy affects bright silver models.

The answer is excellently. Gives them a grimy metallic feel.

My Marvel minis so far.

Completed: Gambit
Highlighting: Colossus / Wolverine
Further Layers: Rogue, Cyclops
First Layer: Iron Man, Captain America
Just shaded: Magneto, Lady Mastermind, Toad, Sabretooth, Pyro, Thor, Jean Grey
Base Layer: Black Panther, Nightcrawler, Black Widow, Deadpool

I also decided on doing a Seraphim Sepia wash on Sabretooth's orange, figured I'd go a little darker than Toad's outfit.

Spending bloody ages editing the 40k 7E rulebook for clarity. Will eventually move on to changing rules.

Removed ~30,000 words so far. Tbf, I am deleting flavour text, and removed everything to do with Maelstrom missions and the Psychic Phase (and powers).

Finally got some painting done. Then I see how much time I spent, I see how much time others spend and then see how crap my painting is.

Time to cry a bit.

A Protoss colony world

Today me and a few friends gathered at one friend's house for some 40k games. I played and lost 3 games, but learned a lot regardless. I also made the decision to bolster my existing armies rather than get into the new hotness that is Deathwatch (and the Death Masque starter set). Probably a better use of my time and money. I'm gonna start putting together a Cyclopian Cabal instead for my Chaos forces.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I had my first game with Magneto and the Brotherhood of Mutants tonight in Marvel Universe. Against the X-Men, naturally.

Can you spot the differences on the board from the "Before" and "After" pics?

Overall, the game was a draw. However the sheer amount of property damage that occurred was truly representative of Marvel action.

Getting to throw stuff around sounds quite fun

Clipping sprue for rubble mix. Tedious. Have half a mind to buy a meat grinder. I'm using a lot of sand/other teeny rocky bits to supplement so its probably not really necessary but ehh..tedious.

Booting myself in the arse to finish a 2x2 modular cave system board which I've been working on for ages. The next scenario in the Frostgrave campaign requires caves, as have the official dungeon rules came out now, so I've no excuse but to finish them (that and I haven't updated the thread I have on the subject in a while either)

Queue me giving myself miner's lung from all the sanding I'll need to do on the pieces to make sure they're flush with one another.
