Khorne Chosen Marine Riding a Juggernaut
|
I'm usually the kind of guy who waits to see the models or other angles/paint job, to make a critic about a model...
But this time i'm with the majority here, its Fugly stupid.
i thought, that GW couldn't make uglier and stupidier then the Mutilators, darn i was wrong...
The way i imagined whas like the Techmarine with a heavy backpack, a bit more armor on the legs and chest, but still something that could actually move.
The drills would have been like gauntlets with the marines hands fitted in, and Not ON Huge freakin Gauntlets.
Once again, they proof that they can't make anatomicly correct Marines, and that their morphology is all over the place, i can't imagine a living being in that armor, only a Cyborg head could be screwed in it and the rest is just Cyborg...
Looks like a 5 year old Space Armor drawing...

If not Jet pack, then perhaps that one shot Jump move Dread Knights have.

Sheesh... I'm saving my judgement for when the 360°s come out, but I was surely expecting something different. Something perhaps a bit more... Vehicle-like. Like some sort of Sentinel buffed up to Space Marine design standards.

Damn, those centurions look silly. The legs are too thick and the head is a bit silly. If the head area was completely enclosed like this: Then it would be a bit more bearable. The shoulder pads can be done away with. They just look tacky. The imperial fist models look even worse than the ultramarines - you do not want to paint something like that in bright colors, because then it looks like something from toys are us. You wouldn't be able to work for GW...you don't have the right "attitude" I am so not going to let that bit of stupidity go Although...as another poster mentioned, they could be used as meganobs. The proportions are a tad more befitting of an ork than a SM.

Not too keen on the models myself, so I tried to do a little mock-up of how it could be fixed (based on the suggestions of others):
Changes:
-No more huge pauldrons
-Crotch/waist plates reduced
-Side toes removed
-Drills moved into hands
-Guns moved closer to drill
Still a bit disproportionate mind but I think it's a start.

Speaking of which... Any clues on the actual size of those things? They look a tad bigger than Oblits to me. Perhaps the size of Killa Kans...

They definitely look better with the helmets on.
I'm still having trouble figuring out why they exist though.
Odd overall.

Dear god they look terrible
|
“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Best miniatures in the world? Compare these to some of the new plastic Malifaux crews, it's not contest.
GW's models are a joke, as are their game systems.
I wouldn't say that. The Lizardman range is quite pleasant. It appears that GW is compelled to release something idiotic right after something decent.

I'm hoping that the Devastator version of the Centurions looks better, but I'm afraid that they'll just be swapping out the awkwardly placed drills for awkwardly placed giant heavy weapons and look just as goofy...
