For off-the-shelf terrain bits not made by GW, what "fractional scale" have you all found success with 40k figures? 1/48 is what I see being "close to correct" for things like vehicle accessories and vehicle kits for conversions (Real 28mm itself being 1/60, apparently). Terrain, however, I wonder about. Things like battlefield obstacles and walls, sandbags, gas cans, oil barrels, etc. Tamyia makes a couple in both 1/48 and 1/35, and Bolt Action has some in 28mm. I would assume the 1/48 suggestion carries over, but with the bases and naturally inexact size of things like these, would 1/35 be horribly out of scale? The thick GW bases certainly give them a height boost.

Boxes, barrels and crates are pretty scale independent as they can be made any size so hard for them to.look too wrong. Similarly with sand bags. Jerry cans can look a bit weird if they are too big as they are designed to be relatively.easily man portable, so.maybe go.a bit small on them.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
