Subject: Deathwatch RPG - full set of digital copies at Bundle of Holding

Bundle of Holding is a bundle / beat the average type of site similar to Humble Bundle or Indiegala, but for tabletop role playing games. They are legitimate, I have purchased from them in the past without issues.
They have 2 separate bundles going on that taken together seem to encompass the entire line of books published by FFG. I don't play RPGs that much anymore and have never looked at this one personally so I can't comment on the quality of it but $62 for everything seems pretty good, considering the core rulebook alone is currently going for $150 on feebay.

If you are into Warhammer 40,000 fluff, this is a great deal. Automatically Appended Next Post: I hope there is a bundle for the IG books since I missed out on those.

What something is trying to be sold for and actually sells for are two wildly different things. I can collect and petrify my dog's poop over the winter and put it up on ebay for $500 instead of throwing it away but that doesn't mean it's actually worth $500. Actual sold copies are going for around $50-60 which is still much higher than I thought they'd be at but no where near that dufus' $150. There is also a collection of a half dozen books (not including the core) that are unsold for less than that amount at a casual glance as well. Regardless, the system was fragmented but solid (once you nerfed some of the bolt weapons) and fun to play so I'm glad that someone out there is offering the PDFs legitimately for a fair price.

Oh FFS...
First off, I've been involved in the collectables market since the 80s, so don't presume to lecture me on asking price versus actual value. I am well aware of the difference, thank you very much.
Secondly, If you want to buy it right now you have 2 choices - pay whatever current asking price is, or negotiate a deal. You can always wait for a better deal to come along if you have time, of course.
Thirdly, if you look through the sold listings on ebay you will note that on July 18, a copy was sold for $129.95 + $9.95 shipping (I was going to round up to $140, but I figured you might take me to task for the extra ten cents)
Lastly, who the hell even cares?!?! All I tried to do here was give a quick heads up to other hobbyists who might be interested in picking this up and who would find some value in it, yet for some bizarro reason you decide to pick apart some throwaway comment I made after conducting a whole 10 seconds of research to see what the books were currently selling for. This is why we can't have nice things.

If you have a problem with my post, feel free to alert a mod. Otherwise, don't tell me what I can or can't say on a forum you don't own. As for "who the hell even cares??!?!", apparently you do... alot. Also, there's a great deal on Amazon for the same book.. only $5,087 used!

That went to an unnecessary place quickly.
Anyway, hey, Deathwatch, the one 40K RPG I've played more of than any other. Playtested so many of those books. Some of them were great, some of them were not.
Good deals to be had all 'round.

Did you work on Deathwatch? I remember you doing mechanicus stuff and vehicle stats during the FFG run but I don't remember if it was on the Deathwatch line or one of the others. That they are. Deathwatch had some short stories and white dwarf articles but not too much else that I can recall before they fleshed it out so well in the RPG. I also liked the granularity in the rules for equipment and other aspects that I feel are missing in the Wrath and Glory RPG just released. YMMV.

Really wish I could find physical copies of these books. Managed to snag the full Dark Heresy (1st ed) system, but only able to get a handful of the Deathwatch books.

They were on sale for 75% off with FFG just before their license got pulled. I actually sold my collection (except for the core book) for about 50% off locally a year before they announced they were done.

Yeah. That was when I completed my Dark Heresy collection. Didn't have the money to grab Deathwatch at the same time, though.

The Deathwatch stuff was before the stuff I wrote for FFG. It's how I got my start actually, with play testing.
The first thing I did was a complete review of Mark of the Xenos, looking for every little issue I could find (I still kick myself at missing the error with the Keeper of Secrets' sword!), but the first proper playtest we did as a group was the next book, The Achilus Assault. That was actually the first book I proof-read for FFG (later in the development process), and from there I think we playtested basically every single book they made for the DW line, right up until the last one (which we didn't like very much).
There are some real gems in there. Honour the Chapter, The Outer Reaches and The Jericho Reach are all ones I really like.
The writing I did was for DH1.0, DH2.0, Black Crusade and Only War.

Less than 24 hours left for anyone interested.
Very on the fence about this myself. I'll never play the game but might not mind reading the material. OTOH, I have literally a bookshelf full of 40k novels unread. Also not the biggest fan of PDFs.

These aren't like novels, if that helps you decide. They read more like codices and/or history books, like RPG supplements.
