Subject: [40k] Adeptus Subnauticus - an underwater themed AM force
Hey all,
Although I don't play 40k anymore since 5th ed, I couldn't stop beginning new armies. This time, it was a themed AM army. Inspiration was - of course - Bioshock and art déco in general.
Still want to build more terrain (maybe also playing underwater scifi frostgrave on it?) ... we'll see.
Have fun!
Cheers,
Titus
Thanks for your kind words! Tbh this is just a side project of my main underwater project - the trident realm for kings of war. the terrain and board is also just 'borrowed' from this project. if you are interested feel free to check it out too: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/768299.page just moved the thread to this forum because the mantic forum sadly will close in a few days.
cheers,
titus
I like the way your Big Daddies are still very much Kastellans in shape instead of going for the more often seen bulbous head. The knight is also stellar, especially the painted skylines on the shoulders.
This is all kinds of awesome. Love the idea.... Makes me think of them swamp necrons you see.
Theres some bits in the Gensteeler Cults range that look pretty old school diver-ish and i bet some of the Imperial vehical headlamps would make good face masks.
never in the field of human conflict, has so much been fired at so many, by so few.
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions. Loyal servant to the true emperor Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments! unfortunately I don't get much hobbytime atm, but hope to continue working on this force soon. For those who are interested, I also got another underwater themed army, not scifi but fantasy, for mantic's kings of war (=one of the unofficial WHBF successors, but with a way less complex ruleset, easy to learn, hard to master). You can find the link in my signature. @fasterthanlight thanks for the link! Love the cities of death tube lamp. Searched for some lamps which will fit to the art déco theme - these are neat I think! Cheers, Titus

Very cool. I've been geeking out on these forums for years and this is one I haven't seen yet... a rarity in that, and well done to boot. Great OSL and the contrast of light sources against the overall palette is right on.
After some time I now got a new cabinet and decided that the AM force needs a new paint scheme. Added more dark blue/greyish tones, copper tones and the yellow went into more neon yellow. Hope you like it. Still wip
I never expected you to continue your nautical scheme from KOW in the grimdark future of 40k Loving it, the darker and poppier redux was a good choice.
Dig the massive sunken terrain progress as well, great monolithic feel.
