There are some great but little known old movies well worth tracking down.
The daimajin trilogy. A Japanese movie series, the Daimajin (Great main) trilogy are some odd ducks. They are sword and samurai movies set in feudal Japan, hence are essementially Japanese westerns. They are a combination of gritty reality and fantasy, usually featuring the cruelty and arrogance of feudal lords and their terrible treatment if he people, along with the God, maijin. And yes! Maijin isn't a kaiju, he is a god. And when he gets pissed off, everybody has a bad day. These are surprisingly good and well done. One of them could never be shown in america as it featured a small boy essentially committing suicide as an offering to the god Maijin to convince him to save his village. The god accepts his offering and restores him to life. American censors would not let this in america as they feared Americans kids might try something like it.
WFB and AoS players should like it as it has medival army vs a gigantic enemy action, 40k players might like it too. The fx are pretty good since maijin is "only" like 40-50' tall much of him is played by a full sized replica and parts. The suit version is wel done enigh that it doesn't stand out.

I can't believe no one remade "Jason and the argonauts" yet.....
"Planet of the vampires" may be italy's only good SF film and directed by mario bava. Has some flaws and limited budget but a good solid B Scifi movie.

"Planet bura", aka "planet of storms" is a decent Russian SF movie about a trip to Venus as it was once imagined. Some decent themes and sets.
Ikarie XB-1 is another eastern bloc SF film, done in black and white it was a fairly serious SF film about life aboard an early interstellar vessel. A bit slow at times, not exactly an action movie but good SF. Slams the west in one scene, hey, fair's fair.
First spaceship on Venus. (Aka the silent star) Making a hattrick of films from behind the old iron curtain, FSoV brought us a color film and, in an era when much western SF featured monochromatic sausage tests for crews, (12 to the moon being a notable exception) a full color cast aboard the titular spaceship which includes several women. Also the ship commander in the original film was American. The effects are low budget but have a surreal quality.

That's because Hollywood knows perfectly well that if they try that one, I'll set about their face with a hammer.
Troy McClure films are usually good value. Got a nice boxed set.
Also, Atlantis, The Lost Continent. I've seen this once, as a schedule filler on I think BBC2, in the early 90's. It was good fun, and I defo want to see it again!
Island of Terror is another good one. Don't think Peter Cushing has ever disappointed? And if anyone says otherwise, I'll set about their face with a hammer too!

Troy Mcclure. Nice obscure ref.
I saw Atlantis the lost continent. In america one of the stars was known as the chief from "Get smart".
Island of terror was great, just missing Christopher lee...

This is a hard movie to recommended because it can be a hard movie to watch. Truman capote's "in cold blood".
It's based on a true story, the murder of a family in Kansas in 1959. It's a black and white movie and the medium serves it well. It's a harsh movie about harsh people in a harsh world.
It manages to portray the murderers as pathetic and in some ways pitiful, and still cold blooded murderers. They are not cardboard cutouts, they are human. Fully human.
Despite being made in 1967 this movie is very intense and hard to sit thru even today. You will feel things watching it. You may not be sure how to feel when the murderers are executed, but the point is you will feel something for them.

Gunslingers Revenge.
Look... this movie is bizarre.
But it has David Bowie as an evil cowboy. You have to muscle through the beginning until David Bowie shows up. Everyone I have watched this with started off going "Why the feth are we watching this?" and ended the movie going "That was awesome".

Dog Soldiers is a classic (though a low budget movie with iffy quality filming, so there isn't a great Blu Ray of it etc.). It's very much a cult followed film.
While not old, a sleeper which is a tremendous movie is Running Scared, starring Paul Walker. A dark, and intense movie but really fething good.

A couple from when I used to skip maths tutorials and go to the GFT instead ...
Gus Van Sant's To Die For (1995); Nicole Kidman as a woman obsessed with being a TV star, to the point of murder.
The Last Supper (also 1995); Cameron Diaz and a load of other "lefties" decide that inviting people with right-wing views to dinner and murdering them is a good idea. Also starring Bill PAxton and Ron Perlman.
And on the subject of Cameron Diaz in the 90s, I quite enjoy Cameron Diaz and post-Trainspotting, pre-Star Wars Ewan McGregor in A Life Less Ordinary.
And finally, not so much "forgotten" as "never heard of in the first place" is 1999's Himalaya, about Nepalese villagers who take a caravan of yaks across the mountains.

The Descent is fantastic. The claustrophobic atmosphere they managed to create was incredible. Make sure you watch the original british cut, not the american one which cut out the true ending. The sequel is absolutely dire though. Brightly illuminated caves immediately destroys any potential of recreating the atmosphere of the first film, follows on from the american ending. Was directed by the editor of the first film, who apparently learned nothing about how to direct a good horror film from his time on the first film.

I particularly rate Doomsday. It's just.....unique. And utterly bonkers in the very best way.
But yeah. The Descent is just outright superb. Especially when the creatures start attacking. The tactics used really make those scenes.
Dammit. I need to watch it now!

I've seen all of these except A Funny Thing... All good movies with great people in them.
Some old movies I really like (that many will not have heard of) include:
The Great Race (1965). Starring Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, and Jack Lemmon.
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965). Starring Stuart Whitman, Sarah Miles, and James Fox.
The Moon Is Blue (1953). Starring William Holden, David Niven, and Maggie McNamara.
Ladyhawke (1985). Starring Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
What's Up, Doc? (1972). Starring Barbara Streisand and Ryan O'Neal.
Overboard (1987). Starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.
That Touch of Mink (1962). Starring Cary Grant and Doris Day.
Support Your Local Sheriff (1969). Starring James Garner and Joan Hackett.
The Hallelujah Trail (1965). Starring Burt Lancaster and Lee Remick.
I could probably mention a lot more besides these. My folks raised me on a steady diet of old movies, including ones that most people have never heard of. Look these up as they are good (most are comedies).

Some of those movies like It's a Mad Mad Mad World, The Moon is Blue, The Great Race, Ladyhawke, That Touch of Mink are still very famous.
I usually avoid comedies, but american ones from the 40s, 50s and 60s were absolutely amazing Basically the majority of my favorite movies comes from that period.
I'd mention The Grass is Greener, a movie released in 1960 starring Cary Grant, Deborah Kerr, Robert Mitchum and Jean Simmons, directed by Stanley Donen. An all star movie that didn't hit the public and now it's quite forgotten. I like it a lot though.

Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards" is still cool despite being a 70's cartoon movie.
Zardoz is....strange, but worth it to hear "The gun is good. The penis is evil." and to see Sean Connery in a bridal dress and veil.

Quatermass and the Pit, AKA 5 million years to earth in america, is an outstanding film, an intelligent brew of science fiction and horror. one of hammer's best movies IMO.
Moon Zeor two was Hammer films only straight up SF movie. If you can survive the "western in space" elements it's a fairly good SF movie wiht outstanding effects for the day. It was also Catherine Schnell's first trip to the moon, she liked it enough to go back in space :1999.
Fail Safe. One of the best nuclear war movies, screwed over badly be Kubrick who got the movie delayed in Dr Stragelove came out. Unfairly overlooked due to the aforementioned kubrick film killing the cold wqr hysteria film genre, this was a stark and merciless look at an all too real possibility. Dom DeLuise plays a rare dramatic role.

Zardoz is an odd movie. Definitely not a forgotten treasure but it's widely labelled as pure trash, which it isn't, and it's a movie that I certainly like. It has a lot of potential and it worths a watch even if it clearly suffers from having some evident issues.
