What do people think of the model, not too shabby.

It's a FW model for their Horus Heresy range. He's still dead, Jim.

Do you know what your sin is, Malcolm Reynolds?
Ah hell, I'm a fan of all seven.
But right now, I'm gonna have to go with wrath.

No worries! I think he looks stunning - getting real Italian Renaissance vibes off him. He looks how an archangel ought to look. The movement in the model is stunning too - everything is moving into this plunging attack and I love it.

Couple of questions if you don't mind:

How long has this Primarch series been going? In other words, who was the first Prmarch Forge World released and when was it? Which Primarchs remain? When do we expect to see the last of them?

Personally I think he looks terrible. Hate most types of flying pose in general and this shows exactly why. It looks so unnatural with the big rock sticking up from the base and the various pieces of dynamic movement on the model seem to be pulling in slightly different directions, which makes it look really weird.

I think Horus was first, and there's: Dorn, Magnus, Alpharius, Perturabo, Corax, Guilliman, Mortarion, Angron, Curxe, Ferrus, Vulkan, Logar, Fulgrim & Russ. We're waiting on Lion El'Jonson, Jaghatai Khan & Sanguinius.

Angron was first. I don't understand people whining about the face. It looks chiseled and focused as I imagine he would in a battle situation. Overall the model looks superb to me, easily the best out of all the Primarchs.

Definitely not impressed.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

I like the wings, the sword looks elegant but deadly, but I cannot stand his boots and hair.

I would hate to paint this personally, but I think some people will customise it to create some truly spectacular Sanguinius's (sanguinei?)

Well, I don't like it in general. But I likes his hair, he is falling from the sky, would be awful if they put his hair over his shoulder.

But in general, and personally, I don't like it. How sayd here, there will be conversions that puts him really cool.

The hair can be sorted out by using more contrasting colours it looks to me, plus you could angle the hand better, which is nothing hard. I mean people have to give the artist a break, its really hard to sculpt free floating hair, especially with substances that have certain tolerances to work with and that are compounded by the moulding process, which has to be taken into account.

The pose is pretty much taken from "St. Michael vanquishing the devil" here:

Not keen on it myself, just looks an awkward pose to be honest. The more I see it, the less I like it really.

Working with the constraints and advantages of your medium is part of the job of the artist. If you're attempting to do something the medium isn't good at you may need to rethink what you're doing. You're right, it is hard to sculpt hair for a model in a pose like this. So one of the questions that should have been asked at the very beginning is "should we pose the model in this way?"

Someone really tried to make the model dynamic, and forgot that stuff that looks cool in a picture does not always look well as a sculpture. The sword wrist bends at a might strange angel

Oddly enough if you remove the pillar the model should look very good laying on the ground, even the legs fit to lay down on some sort of stairs

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

He's holding it in an under grip. He's using a stabbing motion, not a thrusting one.

Might not be the artists decision, it is a business. He was probably told 'we want it to look dynamic like he's flying etc. get on it'

Don't like it mostly because the legs, at least from that angle, seem off. But I respect that it is clearly a Renaissance era Saint Michael, and Sanguinius should have that appearance.

Are the character series in 28mm scale or 'compatible' 28mm scale (like girlyman)? or are they just different scale altogether?

I remember the first time I heard about this. I was told to look at the Sanguinius on the warhammer community site.

I laughed and said the card cut out Christmas tree topper model regimental standard had put out was indeed rather humorous. To my delight my chortling was cut short prematurely as I was told there was not a paper, but a RESIN Sanguinius there now!

Greedily I snatched up the nearest tablet and proceeded to coo and fawn for the next 5 minutes at the beautiful pixels.

Not my cup of tea. It's hard to tell wich way he is supposed to move. Is it downwards, bckwards or is he in some sort of spinning movement? Wings pointing one way, face and sword another, legs and cload heading a 3rd direction?

Brutal, but kunning!

I don't think I really like this model.

I'd always imagined Sanguinius as a "pretty boy", with smoother facial features and long, pretty, flowing hair. And while I guess it would rise up like that it a feet-first rapid descent, it looks like his head is on fire more than he has long, loose hair.

I'm also not sure what's up with the brownish-purplish marbled strips that seems to be flying around randomly.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

He's holding it in an under grip. He's using a stabbing motion, not a thrusting one.

But he can fly if he uses an ice pick grip he shortens his range. He would never be able to stab anyone lower then his shins.
