Hey guys.
Has anyone noticed any hints or story threads in Forbidden Power so far?
In the Community Posts they have talked about Teclis and his relationship with Sigmar (a possible Light Aelves development), and an ancient power hidden away in Lake Lethis that could be unleashed. There's even a piece of artwork that shows some unknown creature in the water to the left side of Stormcast vs Death (see this post: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/05/13/forbidden-power-unboxedgw-homepage-post-1/).
Has anyone found any other hints in the actual book?

Yeah there's a very strong hint that Light Aelves are not coming any time soon.

To be fair up until now GW has pushed the Shadow Aelves far more so so I think most were expecting to see them first. I also think they've had a change of heart in what to do with the bulk of the Aelf range as of now but we don't quite know what they are going to do yet.

Yeah Teclis isn't committing his forces at the moment. I'm interested in what/who has been released from the various Stormvaults - as a community article described some being powered by trapped entities but also by volunteers ... The speculation has been for the return of evil characters but perhaps the odd hero might return [I'm thinking Bugman/the White Dwarf [although I think he popped up in a short story].

From the new information that's in the Hedonites book, I think Teclis is expecting Slaanesh to escape sooner rather than later. It could also easily be not wanting to open another front to fight.
I think Slaanesh will get free and start wrecking the realm of Ulgu, however before that happens the conflict between Nagash and Sigmar needs to come to an uneasy stalemate.

Honestly, it seems like they've also had a bit of a change of gears as to what to do with the "new" Aelf stuff.
It seems like the original concept was going to be for everything to be similar to Idoneth, with everything looking Aelven but with a few 'weird bits'. But somewhere along the line, they shifted gears to doing things like the Khinerai and Melusai.
No idea what to expect for the actual "new" Aelves, but hopefully we'll see some cool stuff come out for the older forces. The Wanderers warband for Underworlds gives me hope at least.

I'd be satisfied with older plastic Highborn kits simply rolled into Hysh army. The only new kits being spears, ranged unit and two or three angelic types. Maybe a new hero, but they could tie that option into the kit and wouldn't need a blister on its own.
I feel that the new shadespire warband is going to be based on the wanderer prince.

Who or what is going to be hidden in Lake Lethis? Sounds like a person/character and if it’s that ancient then maybe someone from the World that was? But who was there that would cause that much fear in Sigmar?

While I doubt he will be hidden in Lake Lethis, I would love to see the return of Morgul. That said while I dont think we will find him under Lake Lethis, I bet he could be found else where in a Storm Vault. With is ability to endless reincarnate the Storm Vaults would give excellent reason for why we haven't seen him. Really I think the Storm Vaults are a fantastic narrative device for bringing back things from the World that was. Does anyone else know of someone or thing that they could bring back with the Strom Vaults. I would say Tomb Kings but I don't want to get anyones hopes up.

This reference keeps popping up this week for some reason. This is most likely just an easter egg. The character may describe a reforged Settra, or it may not. The Stormhost in question reveres the heroes of the World that Was almost to the point of worship. It's as possible that Lord-Celestant Settrus renamed himself in honor of one of those heroes. Both theories are equally possible. Just my two cents.

Given the backstory between Settra and Nagash, Settra being brought back as a Lord-Celestant is more believable than Nagash trying to release Settra from a Stormvault (unless it was to kill him).

I never said Settra was the one trapped in the Stormvault. (I think it's more likely to be Vlad Von Carstein or Luther Harkon if it's an old world hero) I'm just pointing out that Settra isn't confirmed to be reforged. I hate it when a fan theory (even if this one is plausible) gets treated like canon because it gets repeated so many times, so I'm pointing out that Settra's reforging is not canon.

And I pointed out that the Lord-Castellan isn't necessarily Settra and may be a Stormcast who styles himself after Settra. The passage from that book doesn't discount Settra being the one Nagash is trying to release from the Stormvault. The history between Nagash and Settra discounts him being the one Nagash is trying to release from the Stormvault.

Was hoping for a bit more background, but the writers did alot with what they were given. Alot of neat little worldbuilding additions, like how the waters of Lake Lethis are used to treat mental conditions throughout the Realms and its a sought after community. And there are story hooks aplenty in this book as well, with plenty of different Stormvaults mentioned. I suppose the Stormvaults are going to be to AoS what Standard Template Constructs are to 40K.
How things turned out in Lethis: Glad I chose Vostarg as my Fyrd of choice years ago, instead of Greyfyrd. And the Anvils of Heldenhammer are pretty awesome, had I not chosen Knights Excelsior as my SCE I’d be tempted to get into them. But alas, the pile of Knights Excelsior upgrade kits that I scoured Ebay for cry out to be used.
Also, couldn’t for the life of me figure out who/what they are alluding to in the Stormvault. I guess we’ll find out in the next Death: Grand Alliance battletome.
I loved the interactions between the various Order gods as well.

My favorite was the one at the end:
Teclis: *appears* Hey! Hey Sigmar! You're a dick!
Sigmar: No YOU'RE a dick!
Teclis: You're a BIGGER dick!
Sigmar: But seriously though Nagash is the biggest dick and it would be objectively good for both of us if we worked together.
Teclis: Nyo! *disappears*
Sigmar: *eyes the 'open another chamber' button*

Except some rando stormcast has no way of knowing who Settra was. It's absolutely Settra reforged as a Lord-Celestant. Balthasar Gelt was reforged and it's hinted that Felix was as well.

Going off the description of the thing in the vault it definitely was not Settra, it was huge and monstrous. Multiple giants were needed to hold it down while they sealed it in.

My money is on Dieter Helsnicht, who followed Nagash into the underworld to aid his master in fighting Usirian and taking over the Nehekaran underworld. Helsnicht changed from a mortal necromancer into ‘a writhing amorphous mass’ and was left there, ‘ a multi-headed guardian of the Underworld, a spectral monstrosity who kept watch over the gates of the nether realm.’
Quotes from End Times: Nagash.

TIL that not only is a Lord-Celestant a "rando Stormcast", but a stormhost whose entire theme is about honoring and remembering the heroes of the World that Was wouldn't know the name of the leader of a major faction of that world who played a major part in the Endtimes and the fight against Nagash.
*edit Before someone start making strawmen, it really doesn't matter to me whether or not Settra was reforged as a Stormcast. It's a very plausible theory. It just bothers me when theories are repeated as fact. You're welcome to believe that Settrus was once the leader of the Tomb Kings, just acknowledge that this is your theory and point out the evidence that supports it. This setting is confusing enough for new players without it being further muddied by speculation.

It's not a theory though. It's pretty much fact. It was written in as an easter egg. A Celestant is still a rando stormcast, the Anvils of the Heldenhammer have lots of chambers each with their own Celestant, now think about how many stormhosts there are. That's a lot of Celestants. Ergo, he'd still be just some rando Celestant. The Anvils, remember those who died during the age of myth and age of chaos, not those from the Old World. No-one apart from the gods would know who anyone from the Old World was. It's Settra reforged.
