Extremely familiar looking design basis, but nice enough.

Pledged! I hope this campaign doesn't get pulled...

Are they too similar to grimdark ones of the past?

I'm not super familiar with Imperial spaceships. That's the vibe I get. They look cool though.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

They are similar in design to some chaos ships as well as some of the Imperial grand cruisers. They evoke heresy era aesthetics without being 100% identical to any specific ships.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

You can't really own an aesthetic though. As you say, they aren't identical to any specific ship design GW produced. They aren't even identical to any ship design GW had artwork of(which as Chapterhouse established, wouldn't really matter anyway - making pretty pictures doesn't give you the rights to a 3D model). The only legal shenanigan these are open to is the same thing pretty much anything that even vaguely resembles a GW product is - shameless, baseless, bullying, naked bluff and bluster. They seem a lot less keen on that route these days though, thankfully.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

These are very nice. The overall aesthetic resembles that of BFG, both Imperium and Chaos, while still being distinct. One could easily use these as "from another Subsector fleet" - just like GW changed designs for the Armageddon class ships.

Seriously contemplating this one, and I haven't played BFG in years. Well done!

Wow, yet another Kickstarter campaign selling something to use for a GW game/setting , would be nice if more people used these design talents to produce something not blatantly for GW use

Same could be said about the movie industry, but here we are enjoying remakes and follow ups of existing material...

To be fair, its not like you can get ships for BFG from Games Workshop themselves any more. Also supermarkets should totally stop selling own brand breakfast cereals because its just taking advantage of poor old Kelloggs.

So is BFG. Both written by Chambers. Coincidence?

Conspiracy.

Anyway, I am happy whenever anyone makes some nice spaceship miniatures, even when they're derivative.

Aw c’mon now, Bob, GW isn’t derivative?

Back to OP, I am indeed tempted by these and I haven’t backed a Kickstarter before so that says something for me at least. I’ll consult the hobby mountain...

Nice looking ships, slightly worried about the Risks and Challenges bit though. Not sure why they wouldn't have just printed a model off and test cast it before launching a kickstarter so they know how it would work out. Will mull this one over for a bit as I always need more spaceships.

Ah yes, the totally original GW who have never, ever made anything derivative nor yet blatantly ripped off...

Thanks for the hail, I've seen him building up to this on FB, nice to see it happen.

And that Battleship is juicy.

Took lots of scrolling to find but the models are Resin.

Going to have to weigh this what with the upcoming move and all...
