Somebody on the B&C pointed out that in the YouTube trailer for SoB, the SoB are the only army not represented by actual models, but instead by a piece of art from the codex.

Now, one reasonable explanation is that there just aren't a lot of Sisters of Battle glamor shots in the GW library (remember, all current images are shot on Realm of Battle Boards with GW craters and GW buildings and GW fortifications and GW terrain bits, which may limit what archive shots they are allowed to use in their style guide). But it's an interesting question.

I'd guess that the Sisters are getting an in-text mention as defenders of this planet or that before they get eaten. Though to be fair, it sounds like that's what's going to happen to all of the Imperial forces in this update since it seems to be nearly all Tyranids and coincides with a Tyranid model release.

Which video is this?

Sometimes I feel like sob are the bastard child that GW father one night accidentally while drunk having a one night stand. They only update the rules when their wages are gari...errr feeling a rare moment of parental responsibility.

Shield Of Baal Leviathan video:

I noticed that too about the Sisters only being shown in artwork form - and just one frame too. I think book 1 is mainly aimed at Nids players and hopefully (for me at least) book 2 will coincide with Blood Angels release.

Edit: not sure how to get the direct link to the video but you can view it from this page:

Not to further piss off Blood Angels players or anything, but I wish GW would come completely out of left field and put out a huge Sisters of Battle release for December; new codex, entire new miniature range rolled out over the course of the month and finishing up just before Christmas, etc. BA could come in the last part of the campaign for a January or February release or something, I dunno, all they need is a codex anyway because the miniature range is fine. I know it won't happen, but still...

GW already came completely out of the left field (at least as clueless rumour-mongers went) by releasing first Space Hulk and then a bunch of post-Codex wave of Tyranids.

As much as it will play to click-baiters who will keep on predicting the predictable until they are right (cue BoLS Necron rumours for the past 6-7 months or so), GW will likely need to return to the predictable eventually, at least for a time.

The Sisters are part of the campaign. They fight on Lysios. Their miniatures including tanks are shown in a huge battle shot. There are no new SOB models like some speculation has popped up on the web. I found this specific photo in the iBook preview. It also contains parts of book two, The Rules, explaining how to use the new material in your games of Warhammer 40,000 on page 24-26. The artwork in the books is impressive, unlike e.g. the Crusade of Fire or other puplications before Sanctus Reach, which mostly contained recycled art.

The different planets, the campaign takes part on, are somehow connected to the Tyranid formations. Like the aforementioned flyer one for example which is used in a battle in space (platforms near the gas giant Aeros). The preview version shows all planets of the system, each with a description of the battles and forces involved. I could not find specific information about the other tyranid formations but I haven't read all parts thoroughly.

The eBook preview contains parts of the fluff featuring e.g. Tempestus Scions against Genestealers and a Broodlord

No Blood Angels yet, but there are several parts in the previews where they clearly say, the BA will be attacked next if Leviathan cannot be stopped on the shield worlds. It also says the book is the introduction to a new campaign series. These shield worlds did not fight off the Tyranids, otherwise it would not be a series, right? So BA will be featured in the next book and the rumored campaign set for sure

Everyone having a device (I lent me an old ipad) check out the previews, they are both worth it this time

Hello everybody, we have some information about the next part of the Shield of Baal Campaign and the upcoming Blood Angels Release.

Waaaghschale here from Waaaghgaming, bringing you the latest News and Rumours.

Ok, this is either going to go down like a lead balloon or I may have just found the holy grail of rumour farming!!!!

So here goes, the next book being released for the campaign is....
Shield of Baal:Exterminatus.

Not only that but the Blood angels codex is coming with this funky little tidbit:
Codex Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard Edition
As well as:
Blood Angels Data Cards(English)

I know people will throw salt all over this, but I believe it is genuine and I have proof but I just don't want to give it away just yet in case Games Workshop patch that particular hole because it could be a potential gold mine for info.

via Nightfury

"The Sanguinary Guard edition will be similar to the wolfguard limited edition SW codex with counters and an artfolio.. should go up for preorders the last week in november if the timetable is correct along with the much anticipated LE boxed set that will almost certainly include the new tyranid broodlord i told you about a few weeks ago"

So, everyone is under the impression this Friday is this pre-release date for the campaign boxset, the codex and all the trimmings (data cards etc)? I thought it was back to WFB End Times this week?

If they're consumed like everyone else so the Blood Angels can look even more powerful when they ultimately triumph over the Tyranids, what will that mean for Sisters?

Most of the rumors are saying that itll just be and end times novella. That would mean the cover of white dwarf (and main attraction) would be the boxed set, and the novella as an additional article/release. Could be wrong, but it wouldnt make sense to stop the campaign release for a "commercial break".

So the only thing we know about Blood Angels at this point is that we won't be seeing any Blood Angel stuff, even though their home world is being attacked, for at least the next 2-3 weeks ?

They should be in the Campaign Box set, but no actual confirmation yet.

Any word on if there will be a codex supplement released along side the main codex, like with Space Wolves ?

You do remember that Sanctus Reach was not a weekly release?

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Except it totally was.

Red Waaagh+sanctus reach was white dwarf issue 23, while the boxed set was issue 24.

We dont have confirmation of blood angels involvment, but we have known about the nid vs ba boxed set for a month or so now from a VERY reliable rumor source.

Rippers.

Sisters get enough unwarranted support on this place for GW to jump on the band wagon as well.

I mean, are you actually trying to summon Melissa of all people to this thread by even starting the conversation? No one needs that in here...

What is strange is that they are more and more common in BL publications but they can't be bothered to do anythign for them in the actual game

"Red Waagh" was book 1(WD23).
'Stormclaw"(the boxed set) was a week later(WD24).
After that, Space Wolves released(WDs 25 to 28).
"Hour of the Wolf" was book 2 and came out with WD29.

So yeah, it wasn't really a "weekly release". You had the first book come out, then the box, and then the army release for Space Wolves. It likely will be the same for Blood Angels with book 2 coming out 4 weeks later.

It's been explained many times.

They struggle to do the models justice, bad ass women, that look different to each other in bulky armour yet feminine and then multi pose is hard apparently.

They should just go down the route of the majority of them have those helmets but oh well...

Darnok posted on Warseer next Friday, Nov 21st, will be the preorder date of End Times III - Khaine (the campaign book) with no related model releases. Given his credibility I would consider it confirmed

This does not mean no releases for 40k, more tool releases etc

We just don't know yet except for the quote from the Faeit comment section posted above. If that is correct Codex: BA and related products are going preorder on Friday, 28th

If you could kindly ignore stuff you don't find funny, when it is very clear that it is humour, rather than getting po-faced about it, it would help the thread tick along much better, and really help with the image Sisters players have of being humourless.

Your current posting isn't really doing that.

Thanks!
