Hi All,

I find myself here a bit by accident. Making models has always fascinated me, mainly because I could never quite figure out how they did it. I knew there was something to do with resin and silicone, but that was about it. Some of my earlier attempts produced parts that were more bubble than model and just got immediately binned. I've never been particually good at letting go when I can't figure something out, so over the last several years, with a lot of trial and error and wayyyy more money spent than I dread to think about, I think I've finally figured it out, sort of.

So now I find myself with a shed full of casting equipment and I'm keen to put it to good use. Between that and my 3D printers, I can have in house capability from 3D model to final product. Its going to take time for me to design and set up the moulds for a full inventry of bits, but I'm looking forwards to the challenge.

First up, a 28mm Proto-Bolt Rifle, for all your retro needs! I've posted this before under my old Dakka account, but for the sake of completeness I'm including it here.

Currently, I'm working the 3D models for Orc Big shooty guns. I want to have a few reciever designs and different barrels that are interchangeable.

I'm still working on the barrels, but heres a mock up of a few of the possible combinations:

More to follow when the 3D prints are done

So, the sprue design for the barrels is finished. I've added a few extra barrels, so between the 3 different recievers and 5 barrels, there's 15 total combinations.

I'm also looking to do twin linked versions of each of the recievers for mounting on vehicles ect.

So, bit of a wait, but I got the masters 3D printed and got some initial moulds made.

Bit blurry, but this was the print as it came out of the vat of resin goop:

With a bit of post processing and UV curing:

Fresh from the mould! The barrels and recievers come on separate sprues, so you can mix and match:

Some of the combinations availible (the different colours are where I've been testing different resin types):

And on a final note, here is them used on some GW orks for scale.
