What is “jumper” in English?

Those look like sweaters.

.

For maximum confusion, in British English a jumper dress is a dress that looks like a jumper (aka. sweater), whereas what you call a jumper dress is what we would call a pinafore.

Well, in Germany we use the original German word 'Pullover'.

I would expect nothing less from a language that refers to a TV as a far seeing apparatus!

Surely we need Blood Bowl jumpers/sweaters/pullovers for goalposts?

I don't even KNOW anymore.

Not a patch on my Elvira sweater, but the Khorne one is pretty cool.

What, like the word ‘television’ also does?

YMMV but television seems like a mundane progression from older tech names like telegraph and telephone. Far seeing apparatus instead sounds down right mystical!

My point was “television set” means the exact same thing (when you unpick the Greek/Latin stapled together) as “far seeing apparatus”! But it’s a tad OT so never mind...

Yeah no kidding. The main selling point of Xmas jumpers is that they're warm, they look like crap (making them mildly amusing), they're ultra niche, and therefore incredibly cheap when you buy them in April. These are literally 10x the price of what I pay for my xmas jumpers
