Minis are looking good. Have you been playing with the ISO settings on your camera?

Speaking of... get lots of cool pix from Bovington. Nearest such museum to me was the Aberdeen Proving Ground Army Ordnance Museum. Aberdeen, Maryland, not Scotland. However, it has been closed Supposedly it will re-open at Fort Lee, Virginia some day. Bah.

Cheers Sort of. Just getting better / more patient with phone incoming pics from a day of tanks below!

Thanks on both counts!

Dr H wrote:Nice work on the chaps, Graven'.

A$$less chaps? no, but thank you kindly sir

Had a great holiday (almost over though ). Today was the beach, more beach and the sound of tank fire I love the south West
Tanks were yesterday, and my goodness was it amazing. I know there's a lot of treadheads here but obviously can't upload to dakka gallery, so head to the book of Face (I'm Sam Graven) and you can see my Tank gallery. Suffice to say that as a history of tanks it was pretty peerless. Churchills, Shermans, Tigers, and more besides, from WW1 through to Herrick. A brilliant day with my boys and dad, taught them all lots

Tried the solo starter for TWD, Prelude to Woodbury, with the kids. Honestly, it is a bit redundant having both in some ways, with the solo learning missions a little linear, but the final scenario is challenging and different (capture walkers), especially if you try it with just a basic crew of survivors rather than the fully tooled up Governor (we got very badly bitten!) The solo event deck is smoother certainly, but still works well mixed in, and it's great to have a fleshed out supply deck. The pre-Governor governor is decent, nice sculpt, and 5 more zombies are airways handy to have. The extra gear really is great, particularly the Beretta. It's not a Must-have, but it's a Nice-to-have for sure, for the price of 2 Boosters. However, I suspect we'll get more bang for our buck from Days Gone By.

Anyway, still gadding about, so lurking mostly,
Adios
Graven.

Oh - despite an impressive array of tanks kits in the shop, there were no M1 Abrams,so no tank for the governor also I will of course add tank pics here should folk want and mods ok

Yup. 1/43 optimally, as it sits comfortably between 1/48 (technically accurate but feels small) and 1/35 (some super stuff nudges towards that). But not a big deal, honest. Just wishlisting.

Anyway, hello again!
I am back from my holidays, and found this waiting for me:

Really wish I didn't have to use some of it as a giveaway
The Amazons will, I think, be the prize this time as they're a self-contained force for both DCUMG and BMG. Nothing to report yet on the P&M front, though obviously (a) lots to do and (b) pile just grew

Couple of days off with family ahead - convinced wife to take rest of week off - so Spider-Man in 4DX will be the only geekery (£54 for a family ticket?! ffs!) I'll try to get a review of the minis written up, but that's about it.
Next week, back on the paintasaurus! But SuperLex is next, promise, after finishing Street Demonz.
Till then,
graven

So Knight Model's are going to Gencon? Any idea where they will be ( I didn't see them listed last time I looked at the Vendor hall) and what kind of games they will be running? This is a huge opportunity for them to really enter the US market.

Well now my lovelies,
Starting to get back into things.

I did a review of this month's new DC releases, go check it out over at bigcomicpage.com and you could win the Amazons of Themiscyra box. Which is nice.

The good thing about losing a month to exam marking is the pay.
So, coffee machine (mmmmmmmmmicanseetime) new phone (so new rubbish pics ahoy till I figure it out, though technically much better camera), and going to treat myself to Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle I think.

And I did some stuff!
Finally made a Season 1 arrow version of Diggle:

It's the ledger joker with Diggle head (GS earpiece), shoulders broadened and trousers smoothed with gs. Shirt needs more new GS tidying. Hands are from Warlord survivors (thanks Cam!) with a GS taser. He'll also double nicely as just an extra generic detective also.

Started LexCorp and Superman.

Slow progress is still progress. It's our wedding anniversary on 23rd, 11 years is steel, so clearly I should paint superman for that, right?

Got this bad boy also:

It's actually part of a full donut store that's 3D printed by Z1 Designs. Really interested to see how it works out. All will be blogged!

Also, with wife back at work, hopefully get some gaming in with my boys. They've also got 2 days of Lego workshops to go to AND a couple of days at my parents' so I'm hoping for some quality nerd time. Though I'll probably get drafted into DIY

Adiós

Cheers! Quite so. I've got a 15mm print of the sign also which I can use as roof scatter
Dr H wrote:Good convertin'.

Ta! I redid the shirt front also; he's in priming just now (ah, summer!)

Anyway, cleaned and built the bus; better scale shot:

It's just too small for BMG. Dead on (sorrynotsorry) for walking dead though (though the tennis zombie is made from warlord bits, again, thanks Cam, again )
Debating whether to add mesh to the front window also - but still paint it as a school bus? Or prison as planned, in anticipation of prison expansion?

Started on a couple of tie Strikers (woo!) nothing to show yet. My planned game of Street Wars NYC for tonight has collapsed but I'm just going to go see what I can blag a game of, and take DCUMG stuff with me to the club.

Hey ho,

Validate me oh internet!

So, decided to go full prison bus:

Zombie cop for scale Now I just need that tank...

Started birthday X-wing repaints:

I'm really torn on the Decimator (the big thing). It's a heavy assault craft, designed to ram if necessary, so I want (and have started on) some striations and scratches, but I'm torn as to where to go from here. It's a big canvas, really, and I like the idea of doing something more with it, but I want it to look in keeping with the strikers (which I plan on running with it). I could do red elite stripes, but I'm not sure - open to suggestions?
And Diggle is primed:

Although now I secretly wonder if I shouldn't have kept this body to make a Ragman

More to come folks,

Whatever you paint on the decimator it needs battle damage from ramming someone , maybe a little paint transfer.

Bus looks good all together.

Chap looks good primed.

Ships look good... seeing a pattern here.

For the decimator;
They are not too encouraging of individuality, so maybe some official markings or sanctioned kill markers.

Or paint the forward plates in a way to show they are strengthened and hence different (or often replaced)...

One has to question the logic of creating a craft built to ram others with a large window front and centre...

At 10-15 for a Ledger joker I doubt it this was just lucky scrap from a mate. I'll consider nose art

Yeah. I think I'm going scrapes and scratches though.

Now there's some excellent thoughts there that I shall steal.

So... I saw the pics of the new Tie silencer from Last Jedi, and that gave me a nudge:

Red windows. Also, kill markings started and scratches on the prongs.

Glow started. Now to start building highlights etc.

Strikers got the same window/engine treatment.

And, finally, started SuperLex

So much blending. So many highlights.

Sigh. But he's coming along. I'm actually pretty happy with him so far.
Cheers for feedback as ever,

Thanks mate. Yeah, defo but he's brilliantly written at the moment - as are Superman/Action Comics generally, tbh, and I'm no fan of the big blue as a rule.

Anyway, WIP 3

Started with yellow base for the white S and buckle. Getting there. Still need to do second highlight on gauntlets. Wonder if I need any red on greaves? And add corrosion to h beam on base, to give some contrast.

Maybe some glowey light purple spots. I just looked up super Lex Luther on image search since I'm not up to the decade on comics and he seems to have a few spots of white, and the purple would be more of a throw back to older Lex Luther colors.
