On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

I hadn't even realised that it was being planned.

Apparently the estate owners have said 'not the right time'.
An interesting comment considering you would think 2020 is the time that people would like to have seen a more utopian version of the future!

I could be quite cynical here about what has caused the cancellation but won't..

Yeah I can think of a few things it could be, but it would just be wild speculation.

Look on the bright side. Now we know the adaptation won't suck, because it doesn't exist!

I wonder if they were trying to make it grimdark.

We might see a few TV and films get cancelled/delayed as a result of corona restrictions; that could be a part to play in perhaps not chasing a new series in the very near future. Perhaps they were worried about how safety guidelines might restrict or curtail or alter how production would unfold.

Could also be they've got a better deal in the waiting on a contract/agrement ending and want to go with that or felt the writing was good but maybe wasn't quite right or whatever.

Its a very difficult series to get right.

Would really like to see it though

Haha LordOfHats, that is very true.

There was the possibility for it to have gone either way.

I can't wait to see how the new Foundation series turns out, the massive budgets these days that are being thrown around for TV series means that some of these novels that seemed far too complex or expensive to make previously are now popping up on the radar.

I know Rebellion (the owners of 2000AD) have their own "Volume" styled video set (like Lucasfilms' one they used for the mandalorian) that they will be using for stuff in the UK.

Sydney's Fox studios is getting one built as well.

Marvel are going to be using a larger one for their Thor series.

It may be "the way", going forwards.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
