A little late to the party here I know, but this is such exciting news to me as Gorr's story is one of my absolute favorite Thor adventures. I'm actually curious if one of the reasons Taika went for this is because so many of Thor's supporting characters have been killed off in Ragnarok and Avengers, as the God Butcher arc is one of the few Thor stories where the god of thunder goes it alone. No idea how they're going to bring Jane Foster into this as she was never even mentioned in this story.

Anyway, super pumped for this. I think the casting is perfect too, Bale is going to slay this role.

Yeah. I am really interested in seeing how they do Gorr the God Butcher. But also there are bigger implications. If they are doing Gorr then are they doing All Black the Necrosword? Does that mean Knull, the Symbiote god is being set up for down the road?

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I know absolutely nothing about the symbiote god, but they would pretty much have to do the Necrosword. The way Gorr gets it is pivotal to his story. It'd be pretty awesome if they did Galactus finding the sword in the post credits like he does at the end of that arc, but it sounds like Kang is going to be the next Thanos so probably not.

All-Black is actually a first, prototype, symbiote made by Knull. That being they saw fighting and fall to the planet that Gorr got it from was Knull weakened after killing a celestial. (Knowhere exists because Knull beheaded that celestial with All-Black).

The symbiotes are a army/weapon he made to wipe out all existance and return it to the primal dark. They rebelled. The symbiote homeworld is in actuality a mass of symbiotes forming a cage to seal Knull away. Their races name Klyntar actually means cage. Because that is what they became.

The Necrosword goes hand in hand with all this mythology. I wonder what the MCU is planning to change and what they plan to keep.

I’m interested to see his comedy chops, even if it’s largely him being the straight man to everyone else’s mucking about.

Reckon it’s binary. He’ll be a revelation (similar to Drax. Who knew the beast Batista had such genuine talent) or woefully miscast.

That’s some useful background info to know for a greater understanding of the current King In Black crossover event they’ve got going right now. Not really read much of any Venom stuff.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Bale is very method, so I presume he's going to be killing off a few pantheons in the name of research.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
