So I'm considering renovating a pile of classic Imperial Guard and Squat models... check them out in spoilers if you like:
Spoiler:

Does anyone know of a model company, Etsy seller, or 3D printer with arms that will be a good scale match for 2nd ed. or Rogue Trader era Imperial Guard and Squat models? Contemporary Cadian arms are very gorillaesque; I need something shorter and leaner. I'm not opposed to arms with classic lasguns attached. Ideally there is a mix of sleeves up and sleeves down, gloved and ungloved, with long guns, pistols, and melee weapons to round out my collection.

Thanks!

When I had to give a batch of Human Bombs/Penal Legion models arms, I just took Cadian arms but cut them off just below the shoulder pads. Then I made shoulders from green stuff to round where I chopped them from the Cadian shoulder pads. It was a good way to use up extras.

My old tripod site won't let me hotlink, but there's a photo here.
(apologies for ugly early 00's website )

Victoria Miniatures have thinner arms than the chunky GW Guard arms.

https://victoriaminiatures.com/collections/female-arms

I know the link says female arms, but the page has both male and female arms.

Hope that helps,

Haha, Ninja'd by Captain Brown ^^

Victoria Miniatures might do the trick? Don't have any myself but AFAIK they are meant to be compatible to old heroic scale, while not as ahem crude as the GW plastics. https://victoriaminiatures.com/collections/male-squads-1

I might have some originals in my bits box if you need measurements.

Awesome tips, y'all. I think I'll start with Victoria. Any ideas for Squats? Does anyone even make "space dwarfs" anymore? And yes, that website is an instant classic. Can I still click you some ad revenue?

I always wanted space dwarfs because dwarfs are objectively the best almost always in every way, obviously. But also because elfs - space elfs, dark elfs - darkspaceelfs, orks - space orks, ets; but no Space Dawi kin!

Saw some nifty conversions and custom sculpts. Those are super well done, but for me they just look like (Ratlings) or short guardsmen. I wanted Space Dwarf design to be more like the "DVAR" units from the "Planetfall" (aghem... an vastly inferior age of wonders title)
Mantic has Forge Fathers, that design more to my liking but the scale is smaller than a GW dwarf. Not really the scale but the girth and weight is not the same.

How much converting are you planning to do with the squats? I was going to suggest combat shields for some and axes for all, hang axes on belts.
Looks like a fun project

So, I'm not sure how they compare to GW Squats, but Wargames Atlantic has pseudo Space Dwarves of the Nordic/Viking influence. https://wargamesatlantic.com/collections/demo-collection/products/einherjar

The Shapeways store seems to have some space dwarf arms available.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Uscarl Miniatures sells Space Dwarf arms. I haven't seen 'em attached to Citadel miniatures... http://uscarlminis.free.fr/UM_SCI-FI_uk.htm

I don't have any Squats, so I don't know how close they match up. But Wargames Atlantic's Einherjar are pretty decent space dwarfs. There's a lot of arms on the sprues.

More under the spoiler (pardon the rhino heads)

I'm late to the party, but I've actually gotten good results with using Catachan arms for a Squat. The key part I needed there is the hands were be big and chunky, and then I could chop material off the arm until the length looked correct (this was all later covered with a greenstuffed sleeve).

Dwarf proportions vary so much from one range to another that you might struggle to find a drop-in replacement.

EDIT: I see the Uscarl minis are by Kev Adams who IIRC designed a lot of the old Squats so I imagine they'd be your best bet, actually

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Thanks again, everyone... this is great!

I'm going to go with the Uscarl Squat arms and lasguns... they look like a great match for the bodies I have.

http://uscarlminis.free.fr/UM_SCI-FI_fr.htm

I'm going to start with the Necromunda Orlock Upgrade sprue for my humans, as they look pretty easy to work with and have a nice mix of specials to add a little flexibility as a build out squads. Victoria arms are definitely the backup plans.

Thanks for all the ideas!

This guy makes great Squats, ordered from him multiple times. Think he also ships to the US, but you could always send an e-mail to make sure.

I must say that with the current world climate, you prbably have to wait until things calm down, however, as he is located in Russia.
