Eaglemoss, maker of sci-fi and other merch has gone out of business.
I wasn't quite sure where to put this but considering their raison d'être was the existence of geek media this seemed the right place. It started about two months ago and was pretty much confirmed a month ago that they were out of business. I've see people talking about the massive amount of starships they had but as far as I can tell the starship collection did well what hurt them was to many lines all at once. They had Star Trek, sure, but also Aliens, Expanse, Battlestar Gallactica, DC, Marvel, WWE, and Dr. Who.
If they had stuck to the ships and less Captain America statues maybe they would still in business? I hope any of you enthusiasts got the ones you wanted because I imagine the prices will be going up, especially on the XL line of ships.

I didn’t get any of the ships, but I did pick up the collected volumes of the articles on each Star Trek ship.
Hate to see them go out of business.

I also didn’t buy any of the ships. They were pricey and metal. I’m a micromachines kind of collector.
I bought two of their collected article books, but they were both disappointing. Worth buying for fans who don’t already have the technical manuals, starship spotter, and access to Ex Astris Scientia, but only barely. The books only include information from the shows, make no attempt to massage it into making any kind of sense, and of the few details labeled on their images, a surprisingly high number are wrong.

One of the things they talked about was trying to find someone to take over that project, and I believe they just started on an Enterprise-D that was also build over time subscription.
I have some of the XL ships. Mostly the original Enterprise in various forms: TOS, Discovery/SNW, Refit, and Kelvin-verse. I also couldn't pass up the D7 from The Motion Picture. I also have the OG Battlestar Gallactica and the 2004 version, and a MK1 Viper. I just bought em here and there over time and usually below MSRP. I hadn't really realized I had so many until now.

I subscribed to the Star Trek ships for a long time. Eventually they stopped sending the ships, but continued to bill my credit card. One of the few times I've been forced to do a charge back.
I might be interested in resuming the collection if the line gets sold to a more competent company.

Literally in the first post:
It started about two months ago and was pretty much confirmed a month ago that they were out of business.
Obliviously I missed, or forgot, about that initial posting in N&R. It went into administration then later confirmed that it was over but I was hoping for news about someone taking over any of the lines and kept putting it off. I saw a rumor that Playmates had gotten the rights to some of the ships but it was thought they were going to make them in plastic and be more of a toy line than die-cast collectibles, but I didn't see anything that would elevate it above rumor.

Eaglemoss is one of those companies I would window shop endlessly but never buy anything.
The one time I did, I ordered through Amazon instead. Got the XL Enterprise D and it is big and beautiful, and I regret not having picked up the Galactica or concept-art Voyager models before it became clear they were going under.

This was specifically referencing them acquiring the rights to multiple ships, none of which had been announced. I imagine that Playmates making that ToS Enterprise may be what gave birth to the idea that they acquired some of the rights to make other ships.
