People have been shipping this for ages, and it seems to good to be true. But then Hollywood Reporter isn't a source to be discarded lightly.

Might the big budget screen adaptation really happen I wonder? Colour me skeptical but open minded.

They’ve already done their worst to the lore, so they might as well make a Hollywood movie that “completely ignores the source material!!”. I watched that Ultramarines pap; I’ll watch this.

They've moved quickly on that, THR were reporting the deal wasn't closed and nothing was signed only yesterday, so it looks like the same "trump a leak with an official announcement" move they do when pics of minis get out.

Hammer and Bolter has been pretty good story wise, so maybe.... just maybe there is a chance.

However, I saw the Mutant Chronicles movie and that had a lot of big names too. Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, John Malkovich, Devon Aoki, and others. However, I imagine that is about what we can expect from a Warhammer movie.

Irrespective of ones opinions of creative choices, I think Rings of Power and Wheel Of Time have proven Amazon can put it up on screen.

Narratively I think it's just easier to accept at this point that no matter what they do, no matter how faithful or well executed, there's going to be a bunch of people bitching that they didn't do something else.

Also, I'm given to understand from those articles that it's a series, maybe even more than one, rather than a movie. That's potentially better as an element of course correction can take place if it doesn't land right initially, assuming there's a renewal.

Mutant Chronicles… yeah, good call. I was thinking the World of Warcraft movie but the Mutant Chronicles movie is a better comparison.

I liked the WOW film - always felt they should have just used CGI for the humans though. I also felt it was a shame they never continued it.
