Yeah, it's a horror-comedy and a Nicolas Cage movie. What could go wrong?...

Since Renfield is a character from Bram Stoker's Dracula and Nicolas Cage is playing the Count himself, that's a hard 'No' for being a sequel to Vampire's Kiss.

I know but... I can dream, right? Like at the end its revealed that it all takes place in a dystopian vampire apocalypse future ala D and Cage is the guy from that movie having survived the great Vampire Wars. This is my headcannon and I'm sticking to it.
The trailer looks like a mix of What We do in the Shadows the series, and Dracula Dead and Loving it. I am so in for it.

Orkeosaurus, on homophobia, the nature of homosexuality, and the greatness of George Takei.
English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleyways and mugs them for loose grammar.
I also find it somewhat fitting that the actor playing the therapist (Brandon Scott Jones) plays a ghost in the American version of Ghosts

If Cage bothers you as an actor then it's probably best to stick clear of any film he is in. For better or worse he dominates anything he is part of, and you either find his whirlwind acting endearing and entertaining (as I do) or completely unpalatable (know a few people who think so).
I like Nicholas Hault though as an actor, looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

I don't agree with that at all. I mostly find Cage really boring and dull. His films aren't worth watching because they're uninteresting, not because he dominates them. His 'whirlwind' is an electric hand fan with a dying battery.
In these trailers he comes across as discount Jack Sparrow, trying and largely failing, to vamp it up.
One example I can think of is Bad Lieutenant: Port of call New Orleans. What could have been a fairly run of the mill bad-cop story just has Cage turning it up to 11 in almost every scene, whether he is acting out back pain, drug addiction or the ins and outs of his relationship. Note that I haven't said this is particularly what I would regard as good acting, but he steals whichever scene he is in, with Val Kilmer or whomever pushed into the periphery.
Actually thought Werner Herzog went for Nicolas Cage in the role as he is so similar to Klaus Kinski as an actor, someone who Herzog had worked with a lot previously (if you were being unkind, you would say he also was known for 'over acting' a role).
If Renfield is not your cup of tea, you can wait for this movie coming in August...
