I will get the exact names for you once I am at home Kroothawk, but if I recall the guns and armor were Necron abyss lightened with either skull white or ghost grey (need to double check) which gave the shadowy lilac colour. Robes were just Black with a lightened grey misted from above and an edge highlight of watered ghost grey.

The warp spider is looking really sharp there Iffy! That should be a great looking unit as the color scheme is really gripping.

Haha, as long as I don't mangle the purple highlights and end up with them being pink! Purple is a right bum to work with They should look nice in the end, going to be very very dramatic, but who does not love drama? Very tempted to gloss the big black carapaces for some extra wow factor.

Sweet mother of everything holy... stop posting all these awesome Eldar... you're making me want to abandon my seedling 'Nid army for the pointy ears...

The colour scheem on the scouts is an excellent pic, and I imagine them with the Warp Spiders make a "dark"-themed army... keep it up... and hurt my feelings more... LOL. I hope the customer loves them as much as we do!

Lovely colour scheme on the spider, that is a nice looking green you got there.

Early night tonight so there is no way I am getting all the greens done on this unit, but I finished the glow greens on the leader.. man dude. He has clamps and sword arms. Imagine that.

Once again all that is done on him are the greens and whites, but I brought his greens up way more tron like to make him stand out a little more from the unit, same as the firedragon leaders having more turqoise and gem details and the swooping hawks leader having white to jade fade wings. This guy is so tron that it is crazy, he looks really awesome in lower light but that would look bad in the photo Crazy reflective whites on this one are courtesy of Vallejo gloss white in very watered layer. He's not this reflective in reality or I would be blind.

Still interested in the paints you used for the Rangers (plus approx. ratios), esp. as I have no idea what Ghost Grey might be.
Necron Abyss is unexpected though.

Oh no you don't.

Cheers Gits, this is crazy fun to paint. Looking forward to doing more tonight but to not as white a finish

Coldfire, glad you like it. Would you like the same kind of extreme glow on the other units gun colours or will we stick to it just on the purple and greens?

Kroothawk, Ghost grey is a vallejo colour, I should have said that earlier sorry. It's a slightly lighter bluer version of astronomicon but manages to cover incredibly well. Using it mixed with skull white gives fantastic coverage you can then layer white over.

I did not get a chance to check the exact amounts for the pale shadowy lilac but I will try to tonight for you Work nights are mega hectic for me.

Green for cats for sure. Try a Dark angels green base over black leaving a tiny bit of black around the edges, then a medium sized circle of goblin and a smaller circle of scorpion watered down, so like a small green target. I would then do a slit line down the center of goblin again, and then a slit of black for the pupil leaving a tiny bit of goblin still showing. Add shine near the top of where the pupil starts but very slightly to the side.

Same idea as the skinks eyes except with a more vivid iris. You could blend it up too if you wanted it to a higher quality

Going to get an hours work on a test figure tonight and should have the warp spider unit all done by wednesday night, at least thats the plan. Most of my progress falls on my 3 day weekend, trying to squeeze in paint time on work nights is orrid.

No prob Dee, and thanks Flashman and Synister intent!

That warp spider's really pretty, even if he does look like he's got a party blower. Love the paint scheme though!

I've just read your blog over the last few days, all 28 pages and I'm very impressed by your painting skills I can’t wait to see what you do with the rest of the Eldar.

I've just started painting again after a very long time and your work and techniques have given me lots of inspiration.

Keep up the excellent work and yes I joined Dakka just so I could make this comment.

Love the warp spiders and I have noticed the same thing as you with my Skorne, the purple is hard color to highlight. Just when I thought I have it nailed after painting some 20 figs with it, I managed to botch one. You could try to wash the pink down to purple with some glazes, that has worked for me.

I think he is one of the older models. I love solid metal figures, they are always so kooky and full of character. His weapons are so over the top it is fantastic
Metsuri, I am going to have to be really careful and make sure I have enough of the colour mix to get them all done. I don't fancy trying to have to remix the exact light purple mid unit, I know it will end up being pink and I will nerdrage :(

GiraffeX, thanks so much, that is incredibly sweet and very motivational! Get some of your models up in the gallery so we can have a look, coming back from taking a big break always leads to really fun miniatures!

bunnygurl, cannot wait to see these all done as a unit, the start of my weekend in the morning cannot come soon enough.

Coldfire sent me pictures of the schemes he wanted on each unit, I then modified them to be reachable in my tabletop standard while giving a nice final effect.

The starkness of the green glows are due to that, I have to limit myself to layering or I would go too far over standard and cut myself short of time.

These are loosely based on some really stellar purple and green models from CMON that he sent me.

Thanks for the info iffy , i bet the starkness leads to a great looking tabletop army, i find i like the simple bold colours for a unified army , not too much detail, on the other hand for smaller scale games , the sky is the limit .

First off, Loving those Lizardmen! i bet the owner loves them , the Elder are great too

I can't seem to get as nice of an effect with the airbrush i'm using, it's either i have a gakky airbrush or i'm doing it totally wrong . The airbrush i use is an Aztek A4809, had it about 6 months only really used it on other things not models, I use VGC Scar Red for my Blood angels which I thin it to a milky substance before spraying but that only really does the base coating job, after that i get stuck and don't know what to do next.

Any tips or tutorials you could give me? Cheers

Here are a couple of details for my airbrush, not too sure which nozzle im using now but it's one of the acrylic ones

• A480 Airbrush & 6' (1.8 mm) hose
• Fine Line Nozzle / .30 mm
• General Detail Nozzle / .53 mm
• Acrylic General Detail Nozzle / .40 mm
