Hehe it's a bit strange but I think it works too. The weathering I don't likeon the shield as much as theprevious mini but that's ok. On to the third:p.

Sigh, Dakka has changed:( or maybe my skills have seriously deteriorated. :(:(' Ohh, There was a time when people showed interest in others plogs. I'd get input on every post I'd make, and make new friends through it all. I notice this on many plogs now, not just mine. I'm lucky to have an audience of two great Guys though, so that's good

Stick with the League threads, we're all pretty active still. Automatically Appended Next Post: A lot of us (especially guard players) are feeling disenfranchised or price gouged by GW too lately.

Hey hey, I've only just found your thread and I'm impressed with the painting and modelling you've done. I admit, I do lurk on a lot of threads without saying much, but I will pipe up if I feel I can make a contribution. So I am watching.
Like the colours on the kroot and the weathering.

Wow.....
Blown away by the painting... The modeling is excellent as well.
I myself rarely commented in the p&m blogs as my skills aren't even in the same building as others here. But since I started my own blog I decided that getting good comments and criticisms meant having o look at others as well. But you use of colors just made me stop. I had to let you know the awesomeness that I see in your work.
Keep it up, I'll be following.

Thanks everyone welcome new friends! I must say, we are all guilty of lurking, and of course thats tons of fun, and its ridiculous to think that you must comment of everything you browse through. But for me, sometimes it's easy to forget there's a person at the end of that plog that worked really hard on something, and chances are, don't have an outlet to share their hobby with people in their lives. Lets face it, it's a small scene. I know about small scenes, I'm a jazz drummer by profession. For me, Its not about compliments or people fussing over my work, but It's a general interest that helps me get better. I painted a mini for both vik and steingass awhile back, and vik was constantly seeing little mistakes here and there, and those two mini helped me get much better because of the interest. At the end of the day, we are all here to share our love for the incredible hobby of mini painting and gaming, and I know I will be more proactive about showing my interest in others work, simply because I know that person cares enough about input that he made a plog for it. Cheers everyone and thanks to every dakkanaut for inspiring me!
Gnight!
Ohhh and stein, I think they are doing a new IG codex, is in the rumormill from what I understand. So hopefully that'll get you rein spired. Maybe even a new catachan army

@ nerd and shanks: firstly thanks! I'd like to do an entire army of them, but I'm not sure which codex to use. It's obviously a counts as army, perhaps tau. At the moment I'm basically learning how to convert and use gs. These models are my playground. As far as the color scheme, ya, Hawaii. I wanted super exotic tropical Eden vibe. And my vehicle painting is, well, sad. So I will try to avoid painting any vehicles at all. Defnately krootox and hounds etc ec. I was even thinking of a cat people race as an auxiliary. Need to ifnd heads though. Anywho, here's another guy close to being fully modeled. Need to smoth out here n there but I think I'm getting better. I also need to still do the antennae on his head. Please tell me where the mistakes are so I can get better!
And also for some reason, these pics keep loading in sideways. Wtf!!:/

Looks like n old ork chainsword to me Vik. The only thing I can see missing is a poor helpless soon to be victim cowering below him, but the model exudes enough coolness to make me believe that this guy is about to cut through whatever weapon s put up to protect said victim.

It's a good pose
One thing I will say, as it's something I had to think about recently for a couple of my chaps, is the knee that is bent looks like it's not got a kneecap.
If you compare it to the un-bent knee where you can see a clear kneecap then look at the bent leg...
A couple of things you can do; one, you could just extend the thigh and build a knee. but this might make the thigh look too long, it might not.
Two, what I did for my kneeling eldar was to shave away a curve into the top of the calf so it can sit against the underside of the thigh. This allows you to get the two pieces of the leg nearer to each other and then get the knee in the right place and makes it look like the calf is deformed as it would be in reality (Look at your own leg when it's bent).
Also consider cutting the leg above and below the knee if you are bending it a lot (like this) then you can use the actual knee and not have to build one.
Hope that helps.

Oi happy Tuesday. Looks like that first kroot is up on the gallery homepage. Cool! now, Hmmmm what is this league? Lol I don't remember or know how to put that banner up:/ but awesome that I'm there
Here's another update. Trooper number 3. I'm about 50% done, tons of cleanup to do but it's looking pretty consistent.
Dr H: thanks for that tip, it's exactly what I needed to hear. Since he's done I'm gonna paint me and hope it camouflages it. The next guy ill be experimenting with that technique.
As far as necromunda....hmmm, maybe, I need convincing
Ya...lots of cleanup to do.
