Subject: Necromunda Underhive - website is live, new videos and info, preorder nov 11th (OP has all info)
Promo pack is Goliath & Escher range ruler, A4 sticker sheet, A3 posters, Leader / character cards with holographic effects. Not sure if actual GW stores or website will have a different offer. Extremely limited supply as per usual.

Andy said Forge World upgrade sets are forthcoming, so you probably won't have to wait long for those. The fact that they aren't in Gang War is crazy though.
Still waiting for Forge World upgrade kits for the initial blood bowl teams (humans and orcs) 1 year later. That starter box had two teams practically unplayable from the starter box.
While such upgrade kits are awesome for the teams/gangs they are made for, they're unbearable for those they're not made for.

It's only an issue for those of us that are already familiar with Necromunda - and for us there's the legacy stuff.
This has nothing to do with Necromunda. It's a systemic problem with GW as a whole.
Vorian wrote: Releasing rules and information about stuff coming months down the line seems a good way to confuse and frustrate new players.
Having the rules for mundane weaponry (swords, chainswords, stubguns, meltaguns, heavy stubbers) in the basic rules isn't going to confuse and frustrate anyone.
Actually, it is to do with Necromunda, because it is following a sales model that is now common with 'big' non 'main-line' releases through FW/GW (Bloodbowl, Shadespire etc)
And that's where the "systemic problem" you replied to comes in.

I think its been said you can have more gangers in your overall roster, so maybe if you end up with too many juves/champions some of them stay at home guarding the gangs turf whilst the rest fight.

IIRC, the gang is your complete mob of guys, while your crew is the ones who turn up to a given fight.

Necromunda will be a game to buy Videogame style. Wait for all the DLC to be release and then buy all in the "Legendary" package at a 75% discount
Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Yeah, I have my doubts that we'll see a Necromunda Gold Edition anytime soon.
It's not like GW isn't getting my money at all, but one of those Christmas army boxes is way more appealing than buying Necromunda bit by bit. I'll probably get out my old Orlocks and play them until the dust has settled. Maybe by the time the new Orlocks roll out I'll be in a more benevolent mood and take a second look at Necromunda. Right now it just doesn't seem like I'm going to get my money's worth.

Galas, you hit the nail on the head. It is frustrating to see that there won´t be even an encompassing common wargear list in the upcoming campaign rules set. It will take me months to build & paint one gang to use them on the tabletop. Meanwhile I had planned to use my vintage Escher gang but according to the new rules they wield illegal equipment. The wargear list won´t allow for chainswords, stub guns, bolt pistols, heavy stubbers and heavy plasma guns. Because of this I won´t preorder Necromunda.
GW´s turbo capitalistic approach grinds to a halt right there. Baiting us with an iconic tabletop game of the past and then essentially banning former equipment loadouts is just a bad move that will rub people the wrong way. If they don´t put any effors at all to correct these mistakes, then I won´t purchase their shiny new product. Which is actually quite a bummer because I was really hyped for this game.

From Facebook:
We will be producing legacy rules for the classic miniatures on the Necromunda website, in much the same way as we did for those teams not included in Death Zone Season 1.

What is the point is that they're putting out a rules supplement that contains the gang creation rules for Eschers and Goliaths and they are missing tons of mundane basic equipment because that equipment is not on the sprue.
I have no proof I can show you of this but from what I've seen online the sky is indeed not falling and there is a general list of equipment for things like autoguns and lasguns and all the nice things we had in the metal format which every gang has access too. Then each gang gets their own fancy stuff on top of that.
I just wouldn't be surprised to see the new equipment be better than the old original equipment. And that you'll probably need to pay forge world for the privilege.

Why is it not the point? He wants to use his old stuff, there's rules for his old stuff.

It's worth considering that the legacy rules might be written exactly like the new rules. GW will look at what models are equipped with and give those exact options to those exact gangs.
If this is the case, it's the same problem as with the new rules. GW entirely misses what makes the game - a complete rules framework for which GW conveniently produces fitting models and upgrade parts. Instead the game is limited to what GW intends to produce models for, at the expense of rules quality.

I don't understand why the supplement Gang Wars is so limited if they are gonna allow for customization like this:
Support class: doc, ratling cook, ….(4 planned)
FW upgrade are already on the way to new weapons, iconic item …
House weapons blitzer will be made with rules to them !
They want to make rules for everything possible to allow kitbashing a goliath with a driller !
Champions are the new heavy !
Genestealer and Chaos Cults will get rules down the line. Maybe quite early via online or WD!!
All the Genestealer Cult weapons are usable by all other gangs too, so have fun kit-bashing stuff!
So both Escher and Goliath (And the rest) will have access to all Genestealer Cult weapons (Mining Drills, Lasers, Power Picks, etc...) but they don't have those in Gangs Wars.

No "might". it has been confirmed. If theres not a metal model for that weapon and gang, then they don't receive legacy rules.

No. There will be rules for every stock Necromunda model, which won't do for a game whose core is its campaign system that involves modular and partially randomly generated equipment.
