If you enjoyed Into the Spiderverse, you’ll almost certainly enjoy this. It’s got a lot of visual flair, humor, action, and some great character moments. There are also a ton of Easter eggs and stylistic homages for fans of comics. I highly recommend it.

Yeah watched it with a few mates last night. Got a lotta positives to say about the movie. But perhaps at times it felt a little, too busy, overwhelming? Am very likely to get the DVD when it comes out, just to explore through the scenes at a slower pace.

Phenomenal movie.
One I will await on Blu-Ray to find everything I missed (so much text appearing on screen!).

Absolutely incredible. Overwhelmingly so at many parts. Just a very smart movie that gives you everything you need to make all of its swerves land just right. Definitely lives up to the first.

Mixed feelings on it. On its own it is a beautiful film both technically and aesthetically and well worth seeing.
My only two gripes are very subjective. The first is I'm tired of multiverses, even when well presented. The other is that I had no idea this was not a complete story and just a lead in to a second half so was really annoyed at the end. There is a difference between a sequel that follows up a complete narrative arc and one that just stops halfway through a story arc to get you to by another ticket. If it had been advertised, such as the upcoming M:I film, as Part 1 (or some variation so that) and I knew going in they were going to do that I wouldn't have been as bothered, but I didn't so I am.

They did advertise it as “part 1” early on, but they dropped that by the time of the trailers. If I had to guess, some marketing guy thought it might cost money to give that away.

It is certainly a temporary grumpiness and overall not a factor in the quality of the film.

Is this worth a trip to the cinema ? Sort of fell out of the habit due to the Germageddon, last thing I went to on the big screen was either Endgame or Last Jedi
I wasn't too bothered about the first one, it was fun and all but being an aging comic book fan, Miles, Ghost Spider et al werent really a new thing and much like Avatar and 3d I blame it for the current multi-verse BS the MCU is being subjected to the days

Definitely better than the first one since you don’t have to mess with the whole origin story thing. Strongly recommend checking it out.

I loved it visually, and it was wonderful seeing it in the theater.
But there was an audible sound of... annoyance, really? When "To be continued" popped up at the end. I had forgotten it was a two parter too.
I genuinely loved it, but I actually like the first one more, it's more solidly plotted and focused.

Yeah, its a brutal cliffhanger for sure and definitely leaves the plot feeling unfinished. I will say they did an excellent job giving Gwen a full character arc to bookend the film though. Taken on its own, she ends up being the nested protagonist of the second film, even if Miles is still the protagonist of the second and third film combined. Neat trick, all things considering.

Really enjoyed it. Great action. Good messaging.
Really awesome take on some villains. Spot is amazing. Great origin and explanation for him.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Went to watch it after loving the first movie and it didn't disappoint. They were a bunch of great little easter eggs (loved seeing Josh Keaton voicing the Spectacular Spider Man again!) and they did a tight job covering Miles' home life and how it conflicts with his desire to reconnect with his Spider-friends. The animation was fantastic as usual and the action scenes really did a great job on how much Miles has progressed since we first saw him in the prior movie.
I think the best part to come from the movie so far are all the meme jokes about "canon" events being required to have happened (cue slavery and 9/11 jokes lol).

I love how well the movie is hiding that the big one Miles is trying to stop is not the one that is going to be the big one that needs to be stopped.

For sure, and I think it really helps set up the movie without it being super predictable like most superhero movies are nowadays where you can get the whole plot from the trailer.

The animation style, the pace, and the editing is what keeps this feeling fresh and different. If you took that away, the story is nothing special really.
I mean the whole, "Everyone is telling me how my story ends. Nah. I'm going go my own way." felt really tired to me. I felt like that has been a theme in so many movies lately.... I don't know.
I was also ticked at the cliff-hanger ending. Bad form movie, bad form! However, since Gwen was the actual protagonist of this movie, she had a full arc and story to tell. To bad the ending felt cheap, but in hindsight that is the way the comics would have done it too!
So self-referential and "meta". Almost too much to process and designed to make you want to see it over, and over, and over again.

Finally saw it, and loved it. Now, it's true that the conflict between Miles and other Spiders felt a little forced. Somewhat out of character for Spider-people to attempt to force Miles to accept tragedy (even though some did not agree with it). Also overwhelming amount of all sort of references and Eastern Eggs. This movie's really for the Spidey fans. Characterization of Spider-Gwen was excellent. She is more akin to tragic hero than Miles or Peter. She's a screwup, and the movie didn't pull punches showing it. I was unaware of the cliffhanger ending. I didn't mind it though, I was getting worried "this has so many threads, how they can wrap it up...oh, it's in the next movie, okay".
