I played a squad of aggressors (6 with the new apothecary that gives lethal hits) and a squad of 10 heavy intercessors (10 with a captain).
The aggressors anti-infantry is good but not great. The charged a carnifex after thinning out his screen, and totally flopped. Powerfists aren't that great anymore.
The heavy intercessors horde clearing capabilities are better, especially at range. On a backfield objective they are very hard to remove.
I currently prefer the heavy intercessors, as their shooting has the better range and strength. Powerfists seem overpriced, especially on such a slow platform like aggressors.

I think heavy weapons, the invulnerable save and the characters that can join the unit favor the Terminators quite a bit

Volume of Fire is their deal - they pretty much max out the buffs you put on them. 3+ D6 shots, ( Dev Doctrine Bolter Discipline escalator) Crit Hits on a 5+, at -1 to -3 depending on buff stacking with Lethal Hits 1(Biologis) and Sustained Hits 1(Biologis Bolter Discipline). AP-1 for closest Target, -1 for Storm of Fire in Dev Doctrine makes and easy -2, stack on the speeder for another -1 for -3 - average (6 Aggressors) 39 shots, for a total of about 36 including 12ish Sustained, plus 12ish Lethal D1 hits, 12 of which have already wounded at -2 with easy stacking.
Heavy Intercessors (10 size) will have 16 + 6 or 22 shots that would get 18/5 ish hits with 3/2 already wounding D1/D2, -3 with similar buff stacking. The Aggressors will likely have more output and power fists to back that up - while the Heavy Intercessors will have more bodies and a defensive bonus vs D1 attacks. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Not bad. The tough part is losing the Biologis for the Lethal and Sustained Hits - that said you can (I think) do Dark Angels in a Gladius Formation and put Bolter Discipline on the Strikemaster then pop Storm of Fire strat. You've got fewer shots per model (and lose -1AP but gain +1 to Hit vs OOM target), but you can have more models. I mean basic load of 10 models (double Leviathan configuration - which probably isn't ideal for this gimmick - you probably want double Cyclone for more storm bolters and 4D6 frag hits instead of 12Assault Cannon) - Deepstrike at 9" (for Rapid Fire) 8 2+2 storm bolters for 32 shots, 2 Assault Cannon for another 12 is 44 shots 7 groups of 6 - 12 misses, 24 crits 24 hits = 36 hits(including Sustained), plus 12 Lethal - but only -1 (However as you're Dark Angels having the Speeder is probably easier to finagle if you want the -2) So it's there for the Shootinators, but you've got to work a lot harder at it without the Biologis and the bespoke -1AP for closest target. There may be easier/better choices for Terminators.

Aggressors are good for deleting units with massed AP2 shooting and then by following up by punching anything that survived to a mushy paste with their fists.
H.Ints got 2 shots, Aggressors got 4-9 + blast, their volume of fire isn't comparable.
Add a Biologis with Bolter Discipline (and a Captain for free Strat) and play Storm of Fire on them in Dev. Doctrine (put them in Dev. Doctine if they aren't) and they're dishing out a ton of S4 AP2 shooting (some which is Twinlinked) that ignores cover against the nearest target. Lethal and Sustained on 5+. They'll kill most non-superheavies even without the aid of OoM.
Now, Flame-Aggressors on the other hand, what they're good for other than some mild overwatch-shenanigans... yeah I don't know either...

Aggressors? What are they good for, (Huh). Good Gods.
Absolutely nothing.

Say it again, y'all
I have to admit that im bad at synergy, i take a lot of units at face value.
their 18 inch range felt restrictive.
i was looking at the bastion strike force, 3x heavy intercessor squads and an aggressor squad.
i wasnt sure if it was worth getting stuck with the aggressors.

Close range is their Jam. I'm not sure I'd put Tor Garadon with the Aggressors though. Just surface reaction - I hadn't given it thought yet, but he might be better in a HINT squad. His fight + aggressor fight is probably overkill (I think he can punch a knight to death in one turn) and he overlaps with the Biologis but you still want the Biologis for the Bolter Discipline which Tor can't get as an EPIC HERO.

That two editions ago they were really really dangerous, so clearly need to be nerfed in 10th.

Well ultimately there's no synergy for them because GW decided they're too stupid to attach different types of Characters to different units and figure out the consequences. Hence you're stuck with two Gravis characters and that's it.

No idea what they are good for but I like the models (aside from the unwieldy looking ammo feed belts), they remind me of those badass Mars assault suits used in The Expanse

I endorse this sentiment (just finished watching The Expanse).
As for real gameplay, if you need a hardy unit with lots of low strength shooting that won't get stuck in melee due to hitting like a wet noodle, these are your boys. Perfect for advancing at the front of the army while laying waste to masses of cultist, guardsmen, and small Tyranids.
They are certainly a very different beast from Heavy Intercessors.
